Right now both civies are ignoring the tree  I hope I didn't waste money on buying it. Emma's in front of me watching the computer screen. Leroy's on the bed staring out the window. Maybe in a few days they'll be hanging out on the tree like they do with their (falling apart) modular playground.

Leroy sat in the bathroom sink last night. He got out by the time I had the camera ready  What is it with cats and sinks? It doesn't seem very comfy.

The latest on the adopticats Victoria and Henry and a video!
Victoria has totally settled in. She is a lap cat and a total silke love bug. Not a cuddler though. Just likes pets. She is an accomplished hunter. Two nights ago - we were watching a movie downstairs and it was dark. She was lying on the middle of the floor but then grabbed a toy and ran. Then I thought, no toys downstairs and why did she run. So I ran after her screaming to DH to come help. She had snagged a mouse (trying to catch them with humane traps - we live in the country and they find their way in the house somehow). She dropped it upstairs and continued to chase it. I grabbed her and put her in the bedroom. So now there is a mouse in the kitchen.

Henry: Is coming out of his shell. Its one month today. He isn't hiding in the bathroom as much. Still has some nasal congestion (nose whistles) Spent the morning in bed lying next to his favourite bean - my husband. He has play aggression and also bites after three or four pets. We are learning ;) And he knows what a mouse smells like. Here is the chunker stalking the mouse in the kitchen last night - he stayed in the kitchen for hours. No mice were harmed. He was caught this morning in the humane trap and released outdoors. I don't think the mouse would ever see a 13 pound cow look a like cat in stealth mode. It wouldn't know what hit him.

It's so great to hear that Henry is settling in! He's just so stinkin' cute!

Here's my contribution to the Sink Kitty Theme...Petey prefers tap water, as does his brother, Noah:

And, while I was searching for the faucet pic, I came across this absolutely adorable baby pic of Petey...I could resist posting it:

Oh how cute! I love that spot on Henry's belly. It almost looks like he was resting there a couple times. I take it that was the same mouse that Victoria was chasing around the house! Nice to release the mouse back into its environment. It seems like Victoria and Henry are settling in and feeling comfortable.

   So Henry decided to take a break during the stakeout. love the tummy spot, it just screams "Skritch here!"

Love the sink pics and the video of Henry.

Nice of the mouse to provide so much entertainment for Victoria and Henry! Also nice that it is now "safe" outside! (until it comes in again). When we had our house in Brooklyn we had a really hot summer one year and Edward didn't bake bread for 2 months. In Sept., when we turned the oven on for the first time, an awful stench came out: mice had built a nest there, in the insulation channels on each side of the oven! We set humane traps and took out 17 mice in the next few days (or, as Edward likes to say: we took out the same mouse 17 times).

Loved, loved, loved the video of Henry. Maybe he is lying on his back in hopes of convincing the mouse that he is not a threat to anyone. Who could be scared of that cute tummy!

Loving all the pics and videos today! Henry cracks me up... I especially love that he stretches all the way through his feet when he's on his back investigating!!

Just put an offer in on the house I saw today. So nervous!!! A link to the place is in my condo. I hate waiting!!

OMG the pictures of cats in the sink are making my day. I wonder why they go in there and what they are thinking  Maverick never went in the sink ever.

Petey as a kitty is so adorable!!! It amazes me to see cats drinking from the faucet. Boggles my mind that they would think to do this LOL.

Ella you crack me up! Its less overwhelming to think it was the same mouse *scream*. I'd need therapy. I like the way he thinks.

Good luck Christie - I'll pop over there in a few.

Re Henry hunting - much different than his adopticat sister. She really is a stealth hunter. Thankfully she didn't kill the mouse. Henry I don't think realizes its a real mouse. He has ADD I think. He got real interested and then would roll on his back. I'd get down on the ground with the flashlight trying to see if it was still in the kitchen (saw it on the kitchen counter ICH!!!!) - and he appreciated the flashlight. It was hilarious to see him in a hunt mode and then roll on his back - I'm glad he continued it when I got the camera out. Henry is much more comfortable when DH is home form work. He was home three days this weekend. I wonder if he'll stay out more on Monday or revert to hanging out in the bathroom.

Love the sink pics

I've discovered that Leroy's new favorite game was one of Squishy's favorite games: sit up high and whack a toy I throw up. Makes me miss my Squishy Merlin  Emma gets into the game by chasing after the toy that gets whacked back down.

Last two pics are of Leroy sitting at the very top perch: https://picasaweb.google.com/MSqueeM3/CatTree?authkey=Gv1sRgCL3inJWjs83rhAE#

Saw the link in your condo. Great place  I hope your offer is accepted. I had to put in two counteroffers before I got my condo. It was a nerve wracking wait but in the end I got what I wanted for a good price.

Karrie, great update on the new cats  They seem to be settling in just fine now

Thanks, Karrie!

Petey's brother, Noah (littermates) not only drinks out of the faucet, but he purposely sticks his head under it. Then, he runs to his food dish, let's the water drip off his head into his bowl, and chows down. Once those dripping dry up, he runs back to the faucet and repeats, until he's done eating. It is the most biazrre thing I've ever witnessed...gotta love the creative genius in their little brains!

OMG That is hilarious!!!!!!! You have to get that on video    Much more fun to watch him do this than put water on the food for him
