Bad start today.
AMPS 300; 1.8U ; gave a fur shot, don't know if any went in or not :(
Will check BG's today but think he got no insulin or very little.

Just figure it's a day of rest for you and Harry. New day tomorrow.
 
I always wonder about fur shots, to my knowledge I have never done it BUT, how do you really know for sure? I have never felt any dampness or smelled anything but with the little amount of insulin I'm shooting this morning I started thinking would I really feel dampness?
 
Wetness on the fur; I don't smell anything. What does insulin smell like?
I don't know how I did this unless needle came out when I was pulling back to check for blood.
I sure hope this doesn't set him back too far and make him start being back in the 400's in the morning.
 
IF you don't smell anything...and you TRY to smell your cat real good...THAT is not a fur shot.
Can't describe the smell but even the tiniest drop puts off a smell
put a drop on your finger and see.
 
Maybe its just my sinuses I have allergies bad, maybe thats why i can't smell it, but i usually smell things others dont. My hand was wet after I rubbed it across injection site, I always do that to see after I shoot.
+4 329 YUCK so that shows it was at least a partial fur shot; Had a full can FF right after shot about 9:15, ate half then, finished rest of half remaining by 10:00, civvie ate a little of it. Had another 1/2 can FF at 11:35, so 1 1/2 cans spread out after shot, just fed another 1/2 can FF after testing, he ate all.
So about 30 point increase in BG in 4 hours with food; hope =6 will not be in 400's.
I could just kick myself!
 
Don't worry about it too much, it happens. Is he acting ok? Unless he is really really sick or anything, I'd just write it off as a bad day. Go out and see a movie or something, and get back on track tonight. One day of high #s is not a big problem unless they are very sick, have ketones, etc.
 
No hes acting fine; eating good, only pee'd once today so far, drank water 2 or 3 times small amounts.

I'm surprised he wasn't higher; just flat, almost like some days anyway, 20-30 point rise since am with food on board is not too too bad I suppose.
