Miss Daffy does indeed have thryoid issues, and started on methimazole pills, once a day for 5 days then twice a day for week, then will have more bloodwork.

Don't have an appointment for Donovan for a cardio check yet. Called Angell on Friday but got voicemail, and didn't want to leave a complicated message. Will try again on Monday. Happy to report that Mr. Adorable gave me a PMBG of 117 last night. Much better than the scary yellows he's been giving me. I hope it continues.

Butthead is still doing the best he can. Sometimes he eats well, and other times he really struggles. It's strange; not like he doesn't want to eat, but can't. He'll kinda lick at it, stop, and turn away. Many times if I stir up the food and present it to him again, he'll try to eat it, and sometimes succeeds. I no longer mix his pred medication into his food anymore since it's likely he won't eat it, or will leave most behind. He purred for me a few hours ago, and that is always a very welcome sound from him. I've been getting the "How long are you going to put him through this" speech from my family for a while now. Really truly don't need that. Please just back off

Took some videos yesterday and Youtube is taking For.Ev.Er to upload them from my home PC, so I haven't finished them all yet. Here are a couple:

Butthead outside (and more cameos by Lilly):

Butthead decides that's enough and goes back to the house
(meanwhile Donovan has been singing at the door inside):

as always, thank you for your support...

MJ: Love the Butthead camera head butts   I sound redundant there don't I. Sorry about Miss Daffy...you know we're dealing with all that with Teddi..what a roller coaster that is, too, with the MMI. Hoping she does really well on it. I still say Butthead looks good...nice weight on him; you're doing marvelous. Forget what your family says....it is obvious he is happy and has a great QOL. Keep on keeping on Butthead!!!

and here's Donny getting his grass fix:

(((((((((MJ)))))))))) You have a beautiful family. Hugs to you. Wish miracles happened more often.

Sorry about Daffy and HyperT - I have not experience with this at all.

Donovan's white whiskers are striking. He is so handsome. I wonder if Victoria and Henry will ever be mellow enough to have out on a lead.

Keep taking and sharing your videos. They fill my heart up.

thanks for the videos....they're great....and it shows they're all very well taken care of....

i'd say...so long as Butthead is in your heart doing ok and he is interested in things and still has QOL....you know and you will keep him as priority....so don't let your family dictate otherwise.....

sorry about Daffy and hope the meds help....and also hope you get things straightened out for Donovan too....

still keeping you and your crew in my thoughts and prayers....and i especially keep Butthead always always in my prayers....

((((hugs to all)))

Such neat videos, MJ. Butthead looks good, and looks like he is enjoying his outings so much. I hope that he will be able to eat more comfortably. Sorry about Daffy. Hyper T is a pain in the neck, but lots of people have it under control. And Donny is so handsome. He reminds me of Stu, with his tuxedo coat and white whiskers. I hope that the cardio exam will go well and that it will be a non-issue.
Hang in there and follow your own heart. Your family means well, but they don't really understand, do they.

I'm with the others...
Butthead would let you know if you were "putting him through" anything
but quality time with the bean and kitties he loves...

sending love and healing prayers your way...

Thanks for the update!!! I have come to love Butthead so much. I keep calling my daughter in to watch because he's freakin' adorable. Your family are free to have their opinions, but I sure wish they wouldn't voice them to you. You're going to second guess yourself no matter what decision you make. Just remember....everything you do with regard to Butthead, you do because you love him and want the best for him. Just trust yourself to know what the best is.

Butthead has lost a lot of weight, his fur has caked food on it since he gets really annoyed if I spend too much time cleaning him, he makes noises when he breathes, and he's weak. That is undeniable. The tumor is growing bigger too. However, he still wants to eat, he's still walking around (including downstairs to the basement to use the LB), and he still responds to me. He's probably getting uncomfortable now, but I cannot tell if he's in pain. My feeling is that he hasn't given up yet, so neither have I. That may change at any time. I pray that I recognize it.

I think you will, MJ.

you have such a deep, precious connection to your babies...you'll be on top of it.

trust your heart, lady...

Thanks.... I hope Butthead and I have that kind of connection.

MJ, I always look forward to your videos. Butthead obviously enjoys hamming it up for the camera, and he seems happy. You would know if he was in distress, my mom is going through the same thing with her drooler right now. he can hardly walk but he eats and gets excited when people come over. he loves to cuddle and spend time with my mom so she is doing anything she can to make sure he has QOL. It is hard because it is pretty much a given we will outlive our furbabies but I am positive you will sense a signal from buthead. He is clearly enjoying his 15 minutes and he definitely wants to be here. My prayers are with you all.

(((((((MJ))))))) thanks for sharing the videos I love watching your special boy, hang in there you are doing so well and totally ignore the family I agree you sooo do not need that
prayers and vines for all of you

I can't elaborate much since I'm at work and need to hold myself together somehow, but Butthead is really not doing well. Please continue praying for him...

(((((((((Butthead)))))))) You are always in my thoughts. Wishing you have more time with your mom.

((((((((((((((((((((MJ))))))))))))))))))))))))))

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((MJ and Butthead)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Butthead is such a brave boy and so are you MJ. Thinking of you today and sending vines and white light.

Sending tons of prayers to you and Butthead. I hope you have some more time with Butthead but you will know in your heart when it is time. You are such a special bean and the relationship between you and Butthead is so strong. Hugs and more prayers.

((((MJ))))
I haven't been able to be on the board very much lately, but I think of you and Butthead all the time. I'm always sending positive thoughts and prayers, but I'm adding some extra ones today. I wish I could do more.

I'm sending you all my warmest thoughts and prayers for Butthead, a most noble and sweet one eared kitty. I am sure your heart is hurting and I wish so much that we could help you. Many, many hugs to the lovely and loving person that you are. ((((((MJ))))))))

MJ, Thinking of you all this evening and sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers for Butthead. You are so kind and loving and it is clear that your kitties adore you. They are lucky to have you, and you them. Do not fret. You will know when the time comes. Just concentrate on the beautiful bond you have with Butthead and take one day at a time.

Oh MJ I do so know what you must be feeling right now. I hope and pray that you will have some more time with your baby. Every second is so so precious . You will know when it's time to say goodbye. Until the day Tori passed I didn't really see how that was possible but when the morning came I knew without a doubt. Until that time comes just keep on doing what you do best- loving and cherishing that little ball of fur that has stolen so many of our hearts. He is so special but then you have always known that.

Sending all my love. Please give Butthead a little kiss for me.

I tried to take some video last night, but it came out too dark to see anything.
Here are some short clips from this morning, just before I left for work:

Your thoughts and prayers touch me deeply, and I'm sure Butthead feels it as well.
I will try to update with more info later. At work so trying to stay composed.... :-|

(((MJ)))
I know I have not been around much lately but I just had to let you know that
I always have you and Butthead in my heart. There is just something about your boy
that totally melts my heart.

(((MJ))) think and pray for you and Butthead always....

is he on pain meds at all to keep him comfortable? the pred is not a pain med....just wondering....

love the videos....he is so gentle...and handsome....

Thanks again everyone. Sorry to be so quiet. Seeing Butthead get worse has been bad enough, but writing about it makes it that much more real.

Butthead is barely eating. He wants to eat, and keeps looking for food, but can't seem to eat much. He ends up wearing most of it. He is thin and weak. The tumor is very large. His extremities feel cooler than the rest of him (paws). His front and back legs appear stiffened, as if he has trouble bending them. When he sleeps, often his legs are sticking straight out. He doesn't curl up. If he's on a smooth surface, his legs will slide. The other night he really seemed to want water, and he went to the fountain, but it was like he could not bend down far enough to drink. He tried several different angles to lick the water. I really thought he was going to fall in. I put his food bowl propped up in a empty coffee cup or on cans of cat food so it's easier for him to reach, but he still can't seem to eat. He gets some Nutrical each day, and I've syringed some watered-down baby food into his mouth. He's not thrilled about it, but he will swallow. He is still walking around and can jump on the bed/couch/table/counter somehow. He's not incapacitated, but I truly wonder how he's managing to hang on and function. I don't have any pain meds for him. I guess I'll try contacting his oncologist at Angell to see if she'll give me something for him. I will be going there Friday morning with Donovan for his cardio consult anyway.

Though I am not saying much recently, I am trying to keep up with as many condos as I can. Know that you are all in my prayers every day...

Vet oncologist at Angell in Boston said she would prescribe bupe for Butthead, and I will pick it up tomorrow when I bring Mr. Adorable Donovan for his echocardiogram.

I syringed some babyfood into Butthead this morning, and took him outside for a few minutes. Fresh air is good. He was sleeping soundly when I left.

MJ&Donovan&Butthead

Hi MJ, I'm glad that you will be getting the pain medicine for Butthead. I hope so much that he is having a good day today and enjoying his nap in the sunshine. Lots of good thoughts today for all of you, and for Donny's echocardiogram tomorrow.

Hugs, many hugs,

Ella & Rusty
