Yesterday's Condo

Okay, so this isn't exactly an early condo, but it is "early" for me! :p I am trying not to be bummed about today's blue surf. It figures that the first day I'm home and can easily monitor Cinco, he's boring! I gave him a thorough sniff test, and I did NOT get a fur shot, so maybe he's replenishing the depot? Hoping for a little action from him tonight. Wait, did I really say that? Like I'm not sleep deprived enough already?

I did go btb this morning after his shot - I was really tired. As it turned out, guess I could have stayed there longer, too!

Minka is having a "nothing tastes good" kind of day. She doesn't look uncomfortable or nauseated, just like nothing I offer appeals to her. Last night she shocked me when I put a bowl with about a tablespoon of Iams Max Cal in front of her and she ate it!!! I quickly gave her some Forti Flora to head off any digestive upset. This morning, the only thing she has eaten is another tablespoon of the Max Cal, about 2/3 of a jar of baby food, a little sliced turkey, and a small amount of Wellness Salmon and Trout. Most of that was after a second dose of Ondansetron and some Cypro. The Cypro really hit her today - almost like Mirtz - she was pacing all around and meowing. She's starting to settle down now, but it was weird 'cause it's never affected her like that before.

Sasha gave me a huge scare a little while ago (apparently I'm not allowed to go a day without one of these little varmints making my heart stop!

). I was bringing her some baby food and she started toward me but fell over. At first I didn't think anything of it, as she falls over a lot, but when she tried to get up, one of her back legs kept going out from under her, and when I stood her up she tried to hold it off the floor like it hurt! I grabbed for the phone and started to call the vet, but I looked at the time and decided it was too late to try to get to our vet in Sac. I held her and rubbed her leg for a while, then set her down and she put weight on it and moved away, but it didn't seem to be comfortable. I don't know if she had twisted it or somehow injured it, but it was awful seeing her lying there, unable to get up. I'm going to watch her closely and take her to the vet tomorrow if it isn't better. I know they will fit me in at short notice. Right now she's laying in the sun in front of the sliding door, watching the yard guys work.

Harvey is his usual hungry self. Trying to steal baby food from the girls.

I actually managed to get in a short workout yesterday - first one in months! I expected to be sore today, but only my chest muscles hurt (I did my 30 min of back exercises and an easy 1 mile walk video that incorporated arm stretches with a resistance band). I did it again today but chose a different video, without the band, and found there were some other sore muscles that I guess I only use when I work out! I'm hoping to get back in the habit of doing this, as I've gained almost 15 pounds in the past year, and besides being uncomfortable and not being able to wear a lot of my clothes, it's hard on my knees. To my delight, the shot I got yesterday is already giving me some relief. The last two I got took almost a week to kick in.

Well, I haven't had lunch yet and I'm starving, so guess I'll go throw something in the microwave. I'll try to come back and read some condos later.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Carla & Callie, Deanna & Billie and Rose & Zoey. :bighug: Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.

Maybe Sashas little leg "fell asleep" you know, like humans do sometimes? Hopefully its all better now. Hope Cinco gives you a little green action tonight.:D Good that you got some relief from the shot already also.

Vines for Sasha's leg, eating vines for Minka, green vines for Cinco, good night's sleep vines for you! Harvey can take care of himself!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Hugs for Sasha, I'm hoping it was just pins and needles too. I fell asleep on the couch the other night and must have been laying on my wrist. When I woke up it just wouldn't work and had no feeling. It took quite a while to come good.

Vines for all. How much cyproheptadine are you giving Minka? When I give it to Max he just gets a sliver. If he gets too much, he gets a bit vocal and hyper but doesn't eat any better. Just a thought that if you are giving 1/2 or 1/4 you might want to try a little less. You can always give more the next time. Are you giving it once or twice a day?

I hope Sasha's leg is better. How scary. I hope Cinco gives you more green soon and Minka's appy picks up. I'm glad the shot is helping so quickly.

Prayers for your crew...hopefully Sasha's leg was just a funny little blip, and Minka decides she loves everything you over tonight.

Thanks for stopping by, Laura, Ella, Serryn, Elise, Carla & Amy.

Well, this has been an interesting day, BG numbers-wise. Can't wait to see what this evening is all about...

@tiffmaxee, I normally give Minka 1/4 of a tablet of Cypro. I have given 1/2 lately, and it does rev her up a little, but today was the worst I've seen. I kept telling her to settle down because all that walking around was burning off the calories I was working to hard to get into her!! She only ate about 1/4 of her dinner, but I think she's had almost 2 jars of baby food today, on top of the other stuff I mentioned above, so I'm okay with just getting her to eat little bits the rest of the night.

Sasha was walking on the leg gingerly a little later, but she didn't move very far. She's currently curled up asleep in an old cat bed that hasn't had a cat in it in years. Her leg is not sticking out awkwardly like it was earlier. I'm thinking/hoping it either fell asleep, she got a cramp, or it was one of those things where you get a little "crik" in a joint and it works itself out. I'll be watching to see if/when she heads upstairs. She doesn't normally spend much time down here because she and Harvey do not get along (SHE intimidates him :joyful:). She ate about half of her dinner.

Time to feed myself and open a bottle of wine. The trick will be to keep from drinking the entire bottle myself tonight! ;)

Well of course his numbers are a little higher today! You had noplace to go!!

Just like China this morning....If I hadn't needed to go anywhere, she would have probably had numbers like she does tonight, but because I needed to leave, she took a nose dive!

Wonder what they have up their furry little sleeves for tomorrow??

Sure hope whatever went on with Sasha's leg was just a one time thing! Sounds scary, that's for sure

Exactly, Chris!! He's headed for the lagoon, but whether or not he'll make it is anyone's guess. I'll be here all day tomorrow, so Cinco will probably surf blue again.

Sasha is still moving around slowly. She finally made her way upstairs, so I guess she's better. I'll keep watching her, though.

I boiled some boneless, skinless chicken thighs for my dinner and cut up part of one for the kids. Very well received. :cat: I may have to do some more tomorrow.

Hi Tricia,
I don't see an update on Cinco yet but am hoping he'll continue a surf in the greens for you today. Hope Minka and Sasha are doing better today as well and Harvey is not stealing too much fuds from the others.

Happy Caturday to you all.

I am sure you got an awful fright with Sasha when she fell over.
That happened with Sheba when she got up and fell over. It scared the living daylights out of me as I thought she had gone hypo and I grabbed her and tested her and it was normal. I think her leg had gone to sleep and was wonky when she got up.
I hope it all resolves quickly for Sasha. Sending healing vines to Sasha
