Thanks to all of you in LL who are keeping Miss Emily in your thoughts. She has been resting in her bed and nibbling at bits of food since she came home from the vet. The analysis of the fluid that was removed from her chest showed a fluid type called a transudate, most commonly seen with either cardiovascular disease or secondary to a tumour in the chest cavity. There was no sign of infection.

I am not going to subject her to further testing. I fear that with GI bleeding, anemia, and fluid in her chest, she does not have a lot more time. My goal is to keep her as comfortable as possible while I can.

In happier news, we celebrated Teddy's belated 12th birthday party yesterday. This tradition began with a celebration of his 6th birthday, which I thought would be his last one, after he was diagnosed with cancer. Seven parties later, he continues to celebrate with friends, cake, champagne, and presents.



Healing thoughts to all of those kitties and beans who need them in LL.
 
My prayers always include Miss Emily & keeping her comfortable is of utmost importance.
Teddy is just an example that Miracles do happen in this world & your Love & care have kept your babies in a safe & comfortable life--Enjoy your Sunday--Hugs & Love from us!
 
Linda: we are continuing to keep Emily in our prayers. You are such a great mom to let her just have a good QOL now and wonderful care and love.

I'm glad that Miss Emily is home where she belongs and resting as comfortably as she can.
My thoughts and prayers continue with you and sweet Emily! What a wonderful bean you are.. Those kitties are very lucky to have you..

Miracles do happen everyday and Teddy is one of them.

Miss Emily knows what a wonderful mamabean she has. I hope that she will rally a bit and enjoy good quality of life in the time she has left. Your decision not to do invasive/aggressive procedures is the best one. We are keeping her--and you--in our thoughts and prayers.

Happy Birthday, Ted! It's a bit belated, but Russ wants to bake you a cinnamon "late-birthday" cake and deliver it tonight. Will you be home?

I'm sorry to hear about Miss Emily. She is a very lucky kitty having such a wonderful Mommabean like you. Our thoughts and prayers all with you my dear.

Linda - what a wonderful idea having a birthday party with cake and celebrating. I love it!!! Teddy's cake looks awesome! I don't recall seeing pictures of him before. He is a gorgeous cat. What eyes!

I'm sorry about Miss Emily. Please give her a hug from me. Is she on lasix and an ace inhibitor? (enazapril or benazapril)? I only have experience with congestive heart failure with our dog, where her lungs fill with fluid. Not the outside of the heart/lungs. (((((Linda and Miss Emily)))))) Healing vines to Emily.

Teddy's story gives me hope with Rocket....and happy birthday to him....and yes the cake idea is a nice one...yummy!!!

((((((((((((Emily and Linda)))))))))))) I posted on facebook. I am keeping you both close to my heart which is breaking for you also. Maverick took away making that decision for him but I know the pain of loss and I wish I could give you a real hug. I know you are loving her every second you have with her and its never ever long enough. You are giving her a gift of helping her cross peacefully. It truly is a gift. I wish I could have helped my father. I could only pray that God took him quickly. Saving up lots more hugs Linda.
