5/12 Condo

Good morning all. Best start to the day we've had in a while. He's happy, purring, eating well. Weighed him this weekend and it seems that he has gained back at least 1 pound that he lost so that puts him back to 11.9 so 12 pounds which is great! Still negative on Ketones. His fur is growing back where they shaved him and he's back to my beautiful boy! Woke me up with snuggles and slobbery kisses so that is really good!

The Lev will be arriving this morning here at my office. Want to get him started on this right away so looking for dosing advice. He is currently on 4.75 units of Lantus as I bumped him up yesterday. If my calculations are correct he needs 70% of that dose in Lev. That would put us at 3.32 (ugh) so would I be safe to start him at 3.25??
Let me know as I would like to start him tomorrow morning rather than waiting until the weekend. Or if you think it's best, I can wait for the weekend since I'll be home to monitor. It seems that last time it took about 3 days to show any difference so not sure what to expect.

Wishing everyone a great day, great numbers, safe surfs and lots of love.

Jo

You know, as slow as it's been in here the last few days, you might drop in on the Lev board and see if they might be able to help you.

I haven't checked, you may have already done that, it's just a suggestion. :-D

I don't have any dose advice, but wanted to say good luck with starting the Lev. I'm glad Scratchie is doing well and feeling good.

Because the Lantus will be wearing off when you start the Levemir, I think rounding down is a good idea.

Levemir has a slightly longer duration than Lantus so there will be more overlap. The nadir can be later too, so look around +6 to +9 for it.

A little bit late- but that is a good switch-over number.

And, since you have been on lantus, you don't have to wait for shed fill. There might be a little hick-up in numbers but Scratchie should transition over well.
