Sammy came home Wednesday evening after the funeral. His ss is up-to-date now but Tuesday his AMPS was 295 and they shot 2U. Then his PMPS was 186 and they did not shoot. At least this is what I have in my notes so he either went one or two cycle without anything although it must be one cycle and I was yelling at the surgeon enough to fluster him.
Anyway, he's home now with his side shaven, a bunch of nasty-looking stitches, an Elizabethan collar on his neck and two bottles of Clavamox (1ml BID) to take until finished. He's not supposed to jump any heights or even go upstairs so I've been sleeping in the living room with him.
At one point yesterday however he disappeared when I was on the phone. I thought he was in the living room on the chaise which is only a foot off the floor but the little dickens was upstairs on the bed snoozing. He came down by himself ok. So when the doctor heard that he said not to even attempt to give him any more Tramadol. (I was having trouble getting the pills into him. Cats aren't as easy as dogs.)
I also asked the surgeon yesterday to look at the X-ray and tell me what he saw about Sammy's back. Seems he's got one vertebra more than he's supposed to have and arthritis of the spine and perhaps a slipped disk (I gotta ask again) which might explain he's reluctance to go. The doctor said to discontinue the MiraLax and pick up something he's got that may help. He also suggested the herbal Basic B and Cell Advance. And that's where we are right now. No poo and an AMPS of 298.
