Welcome to Windy Wednesday in Tucson! We have been having crazy winds since last night. Our thoughts continue to be with Rich and Michael. We're sending healing vines to Lucy today and any others who need them. Also many condolences to Jamie and also to Ella whose friend, Jean, is not well.

Gracie is not fond of the wind.....too many things blowing around and blowing over. One of her fav sleeping spots is a laundry basket in the hall linen closet. I had some towels on the bottom of it with the little pad her breeder handmade for her when she was a baby on the top. A few weeks ago, i took out all the towels and put a fluffy pad in there that used to be one that Gussie liked and then I put her pad on top of that. She LOVES it. When it's windy outside, it's her very special spot. As many of us have been, Tobey is enthralled with the birth of Caly's kittens:

They're so little and squeaky!!

Gracie, however, thinks they squeak too much.   And besides, she is the baby, right?

She had a pretty decent evening last night and allowed us a bit of sleep. I tested at +9 and +10 last night and thought she was good to go until AMPS as Mike was going to do the AMPS duty and let me sleep in (second time this week and it was wonderful). So she decided to give him a nice 60 after being fairly flat in the earlier tests. Lil Stinka strikes again.

Hope you all have a great day.

Wednesday and no "DH here"? You are totally going to mess with Carl's calendar.

Lovely to see Gracie return to daytime lows and let you get "some" sleep last night. Too bad on the winds - it can get scary here too because of all the tall trees swaying.

If Tobes want to pick out a kitten - Langley (LAPS) is only about a 25 minute drive away from me. :-D Those squeaks are totally adorable.

Love the picture!!! I really can't tear myself away, either. Not going to be a productive day.

Gracie, you have the right idea. A nice soft bed in a quiet place. Now surf safely, LBG!

Windy days in Tucson. I remember them well. Those who haven't experienced it can't picture the destruction it can bring. I hope it settles down soon. Has the ice broken on the Santa Cruz yet?

That is such a cute picture. I don't blame Gracie for not liking the wind. It's nice she has a safe spot to sleep in. Nice greens today.

That's right!!! Normally I am work on Wed and Mike does the condo but I took two full weeks off!! Sorry, Carl!

  Tricia. No, the ice hasn't broken on the SCR yet. They thought it would be this week but looks like not. That whole thing really cracks me up because when we lived in Alaska, we would go to Nenana each year and help erect the tripod on the rivers for the icebreak. Only it really was an icebreak

I just popped in to look around and saw you were online. Gracie is looking pretty good, as usual!! I saw you and Mike got to get away. I'm so glad for you!! I know how much y'all have missed traveling. I'm sure you played lots of golf!!

I got the call from Champ's vet that his follow-up blood work is all normal...white count and neutrophils back to normal, urinalysis normal. I never took the time to upload all Champ's lab data, but I'm going to do that this week/weekend along with his new results (which I don't have a copy of as of yet). As soon as I have it all uploaded, I'm going to let you know so maybe you could look everything over. Champ's numbers are looking pretty good once again and his appetite is completely back to normal.

I'll try to keep in touch better....I just need two extra hours a day to fit everything in!!

I love Gracie pictures. She is so cute. Nice cycle for Gracie.

Gracie, you finally decided to come out of the lagoon! I hope you aren't bouncing!

OT: The ice breaking joke started many years ago - like maybe 30! There was a weather forecaster who started on Channel 9, then moved to Channel 4, which is where he stayed until he retired (and I just read online that he came out of retirement and returned to Channel 9, then retired for good in 2003). His name was Michael Goodrich and he fancied himself a bit of a comedian. He started it, inviting viewers to send in their guesses on what the date would be. He's been gone a while (although I think he's still alive), but the tradition continues. It's funny the things that stick with you through the years.
