Yesterday's Unexpected Road Trip
Late Condo Queen is back! Another long day, and this is the first chance I've had to sit at the PC and post. Sorry!
Unfinished business:
@Sienne and Gabby, he is, indeed, in his own unique way. For the most part, Cinco is a quiet, undemanding cat, but every now and then he gets a bee in his bonnet and can be very vocal. He doesn't know how to meow in the traditional sense. The sound he makes is more like a Siamese howl. He normally has two volume settings: 1) LOUD 2) LOUDER. What he was doing yesterday in the car was a much toned down version of his loud howl. Kind of like, under his breath. Hard to describe unless you hear it, but it was pretty funny. It reminded me of a little kid that has been told to stop something, and he's complying, but he's muttering under his breath.
On to today:
Thanks to all who offered advice last night/early this morning on what to do with Cinco's shot this morning. I did a BCS of .5 and it appears he had a nice, safe, blue surf. He got the full 1.0 tonight, and he's trending toward another blue surf. I'd be sad about that except that I could really, really use an early night. I overslept this morning and his shot was half an hour later than I intended it should be. I am pretty burned out.
Minka put one over on me this morning. I have been giving her the tummy meds as soon as I wake up (prepared the night before and waiting on my nightstand), so that by the time I get up, organized and serve breakfast, they have time to kick in. This has been working well. This morning, when I brought her breakfast to her, I discovered the gelcap with her meds on the bed next to her!
She started eating right away!
I gave her the meds, anyway, and waited to see her eat some more food, to be sure they went down. She ate her breakfast and subsequent snacks before I left very well, but wasn't impressed by the dinner selection (Dave's Turkey & Giblets). I caved and gave her some Avoderm Salmon Consomme, as I can usually be sure she'll eat it. She is. I weighed her this morning, and she has lost four ounces in the past week. I am contemplating assist feeding at least 10 ml of a higher calorie food every evening. She does NOT need to lose weight, but to gain it.
Sasha is also getting her morning Ondansetron first thing. She was especially feisty this morning (to borrow term from @Amy&TrixieCat ), and it took four tries to get it into her. I thought. She then ate her breakfast in a less than enthusiastic manner - finishing about 2/3 before I left for my appointment. When I got home this evening, I was picking up in the bedroom and found her gelcap on the floor!
I have very sneaky cats.
She ate better this evening.
I got a cortisone shot in one finger today. The other finger that I had planned to have treated has actually improved somewhat. The shots are only moderately effective, and the shot itself is so painful that I have to REALLY need it to endure it.
DH and DFIL made it safely to Bolivia. Mark just sent me an e-mail to let me know all was well.
I'm home all day tomorrow, so will try to do my condo at a more reasonable hour.
Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Carla & Callie, Deanna & Billie and Rose & Zoey.
Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.

to Angela.

Cinco sounds like a character. Grumbling?!
