Hello L&LL!
Yesterday: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/5-13-billie-pmps-303.137807/
Thanks for the visits on yesterday's condo Tricia, Elise and Carla! Billie is doing well today! I am cautiously hopeful that the metronidazole is helping? Her appy has been good with Tiki Cat salmon, and she produced a nice normal poo. For a little while, the ondansetron didn't seem to be making a difference, but her appy perked up an hour or so after her last dose, so I think it is working again. Brooklyn is also doing better today as far as poo goes. Both kitties do get FortiFlora. Billie hasn't been enthusiastic about it recently (aversion, I think) but Brooklyn would eat a whole box of it in one sitting if no one stopped her. So far, Billie seems to be doing okay taking her meds in milk. I have been giving her ondansetron in tuna or chicken juice, but the metronidazole is too stinky to hide that way. I had to call in the big guns. It's the best way I can be sure she is taking her medicine and not wearing it.
Weird thing tonight - both cats coughed a bit! Hmmm... I did a big overhaul of the apartment earlier, clearing out drawers and throwing stuff away, and it definitely got dusty in here. That makes sense with Billie since she has asthma, but it's weird that Brooklyn coughed too. Or maybe not weird if she is allergic to dust. I will certainly be keeping an eye on her.
The reason I did the overhaul of the apartment is because...I'm moving!! DBF and I are getting an apartment together. My lease here goes until August, but we can technically move as early as next weekend. I was debating what to do because I am super excited to move but don't want to stress Billie when she isn't feeling well. So I'll see how she's doing. But, I think she will like the new place a lot, and I have a strategy to get her and Brooklyn settled a day or two early in my new bedroom so they can be secluded from the shuffling of boxes and furniture. My current apartment is very small and it's in a very old building that is gorgeous on the outside but isn't maintained well inside. The new apartment has more space, which I think will help diplomatic relations between Billie and Brooklyn. And everything is kept up well. The building is cleaner, which I'm hoping will help with her allergies/asthma. There are more windows to sit in, more closets to hide in, and a balcony that the girls can hang out on (supervised). Billie has had two hotel stays with me, and she did really well both times, so I'm hoping this will go smoothly. It will certainly be nice for me. I'll have all kinds of cool stuff that I don't have now like central air and a dishwasher!
I hope everyone is doing well. Sending vines to all the kitties and beans needing vines.
