Sorry to be posting so late today... not a lot of time to dilly-dally in bed as I had to get to tbp early so I could leave early to house hunt.
Willie's numbers are blech, but he is still a happy furry, purry boy. I suspect we got derailed last night by a visit from Willie's paramour, Miss Michelle. They met up on the patio, then she invited herself in. I got her out by tempting her with a fish made by the Nanner company, but when I opened the door, she trotted right back in. I didn't realize she doesn't have front claws, and when I tried to get her out gently, she started SCREAMING! To that point, Willie had just been sitting watching her, but then he felt compelled to chime in with a "why are you yelling in my house?!?! Is that really necessary?!? For the love of god, STOP!!!" Turns out, there's no bite or scratch behind it, just hollering, which she does all the time... when she eats, when she uses the litterbox, when she wants to play... she's just loud! I think it stressed the poor Wee Dub out, so I finally got her out the front door and into the stairwell and went to fetch her bean. The 4 drops was about .25u, and this morning was his 6th cycle, so we dosecreased to .5u tonight. I'd rather be aggressive when I'm going into a weekend where I'll have time to monitor him.
Tomorrow is supposed to be Willie's last dose of cyclosporine, but I noticed a troublesome spot on his back paw yesterday, so I'm going to finish the last additional 4 pills and monitor for a couple weeks with daily pics. If it grows, we'll have to start up his dose again. While I'd like him off the meds, he is so easy to pill that I have to remind myself that in the grand scheme of things, it isn't that major of a setback and was something the vet told us would be likely. He was just doing soooo well up to this point!
So, this week has been rough mentally. Possible pemphigus relapse, numbers off the rail... dong my best to keep it all in perspective. He is still a happy, healthy boy who can remain so, even if he is on his skin meds indefinitely. As for his numbers, we've gotten him regulated before and we will do it again. Just so frustrating how quickly it fell apart.
Anyway, that's all from our camp... hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!! Details on the house hunt over in Loose Lips!!
