Well, Susie is making it quite clear that she does not like the reduction in her breakfast. I'm going to try to space her meals out a little. I will try 1/2 can l/c at AMPS, 1/2 can at +2 and 1/2 can at +6. Same for the PM cycle. I plan on spending some time looking at the catinfo.org site today. Not sure if I should be feeding based on current weight or desired weigh but I do understand it should be 20 calories per pound. I do like the fact that she is out and about and not sleeping after her breakfast. I'm also sure she is extra hungry because of the high AMPS. I'm going to try to do fat 3 units. Trying to get between 3 and 3.25 units. She didn't do well at 3 but did a little too well at 3.25. I need a good middle ground with more blues right now.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Darn! A pink AMPS. But it's just barely a pink AMPS. That's better than my boy did this morning, but his whole body/life is going crazy now.

I hope the fat 3 will do the trick. :cat: Sorry she's not happy with her reduced breakfast. She probably will become accustomed to it with time and the frequent feedings.

Maybe Susie is just more comfortable in the higher numbers because she has become accustomed to them and she feels weird in the lower numbers (since you said she didn't come out as much when she was in the greens.) That's not a good thing, of course, but hopefully she will come down gradually and have time to adjust to those blues that we are hoping to see!

We want those blues. I saw Darcy's spreadsheet. I'm so sorry he is so high. I just want to see him start eating healthy l/c food again but if he won't you have to feed what he will eat. I was glad to hear some of his blood test were looking better. Susie will come around with the food adjustment. When you said Darcy needed fluids twice a day was that at the vets or the sub-q's you do at home?

Yes. I do them at home. I'm an old pro at that and, fortunately, Darcy is the best patient that I have ever had. We just scratch his chin and head and he purrs through the whole thing and never tries to get up at all! What a blessing!

You are so fortunate that Darcy behaves during the sub-q's. My Simon did too but unfortunately I think that was the kidney disease that had just drained him.

I see blue!! Hoorah! I'm so glad I took another peek at Susie's spreadsheet. :joyful:
I am so dense sometimes. I am just a slow learner but it never dawned on me that the full can (3 oz) of cat food at AMPS and PMPS might be raising her numbers. So, I fed her 1/2 can at AMPS and 1/4 can at +2. Then I fed 1/4 can at +4 and tested at +6 which is usually her nadir but she was higher than +4. I went ahead and gave her 1/2 can at +6 because she won't get any more food until PMPS. Anyway, maybe the smaller meals stretched out really do help keep the numbers down a little. I know they help when she is green. I'm just happy to see two blues but imagine when I test again at +8 she will be in a yellow. Thanks for the cheers, Suzanne. I didn't know if I was going to really struggle to get any blues back after the reduction.
