Good Morning all, Happy Friday  After a lot of discouragement from my current local vet, I found a new vet about an hour away, worth the drive to find someone else. I had Jasmine in to see them yesterday for more testing to see what is causing all her additional symptoms. They re- tested her thyroid, did a cortisol/creatinine ratio test and today a urine protein creatinine ratio test. After I have these results, we will go from there to see what they find. I had Jasmine off insulin for a few days per the local vets request but totally do not agree with it so decided to start again from scratch and give her 0.5 units BID starting 4 am this morning. I am still looking in to the diet change here very soon. I have been shopping around for the Fancy Feast but pate is hard to find around here. I have managed to find 3 different kinds though, chicken, tender liver & chicken and turkey & giblets and it is local. I think that is all we have around here. I am going to ween her off her current diet and go with the new soon. I am sure she will appreciate the change in diet and flavour  Please keep Jazzy in your prayers and keep sending positive vibes that the new vet can firgur our her diagnosis as soon as possible and that we can treat it. Thanks again everyone! Have a purrrrrrrrrrrrrfect weekend!!!!

Many positive thoughts that the new vet can figure out what's going on with Jasmine quickly!

Have a great Friday!

Good morning ... I hope the new vet can figure out what is going on with Jasmine so she is on the mend soon! Mocha loved the turkey and giblets from FF .. but it got pricey for us so we switched her to the wal mart brand special kitty turkey and giblets ... she made the transition just fine and it was much cheaper for us .. have a great weekend!

yay for a new vet with a more encouraging attitude! an hour is a long ways to go, but probably worth it to have someone you feel is knowledgeable and willing to work with you. glad you found someone.

Yay on the new vet...

I worked with a vet in a similar situation with my Tilei(GA).

He was generous enough to work with me at that time via fax, phone, and spreadsheet without always needing to run way over there. Might be something to ask your new vet. I always offered to pay for the phone consult type stuff...God Bless the vet he never did invoice those. I think he was just amazed he had a client so into her cat and he didn't have to put up with the terrible Mrs. T. She did give him a few stitches in her time.... ohmygod_smile

Good luck with the new vet...they sound wonderful and willing to work on figuring out what is going on with Ms. Jasmine! Positive vibes for Jazzy.....

Thanks everyone for the well wishes for Jasmine  I really hope so to that this new vet can make a proper Dx on whatever it is that is going on with her. I will keep you posted. For the time being I have Jasmine back on insulin and I know that is what she needs for her diabetes at the least.

Maverick was an extremely picky eater. His BG rose with the FF line. He loved the Special Kitty turkey and giblet. We used chicken dust on top to tempt him to eat when he wasn't in the mood. Remember that Binky's list - the Walmart line is the small 3oz cans. The 5.5oz cans are totally different.
