Hello LL!

Both of Eddie's BG tests were green yesterday, which is cool. He did get an AM +9 snack fed by "auto" feeder DH, and it definitely showed in his lower PMBG.

Since moving, the cats have decided they are allowed to investigate the counters and cupboards, even though in our last place they were not allowed on the counters (if they got caught, that is). We are failing at shooing them off the counters right now, and with five cats, that's a lot of cats dancing around on the counters. In any event, after going to bed last night, I heard banging in the kitchen. Foster (soon-to-be-forever) kitty Blueberry was opening and shutting the bottom cabinet cupboards. Then I heard more banging and stuff falling on the floor, walked into the kitchen and found Blueberry and Eddie inside one of the upper cupboards above the counters - where the cat food and treats are stored. BB and Eddie were snacking on some treats inside the cupboard. :cat:Thankfully, the treats BB decided to rip open were FD friendly. We're going to have to get kid-proof latches for the cat food cupboard I guess. o_O

Located and cleaned the auto-feeders last night, but didn't get them set up until today. I suspect the higher AMBG is due to no snack between PM +6 and AMBG. As you can see, he came down beautifully today after eating. Assuming the feeders turn as they should, Eddie will get a snack this afternoon. Hopefully that will be reflected in a green PMBG. :D

Prayers and vines for all those in need today, particularly Angela and her family as they mourn the passing of beautiful Blackie, and some green no-juice vines for Eddie's co-conspirator, Zeke.

Eddie's doing great - lovely numbers! :D

We have problems from time to time with one or another of the cats getting into the cupboards too - the first we usually know of it is when we find a package of treats on the floor (empty) the next morning. We had no choice but to get rid of everything high carb that they could possibly chew through the packaging for...Regan especially will even chew through a foil pouch to get to something she particularly wants so anything like that had to go!!

Happy Day 5!! :D :D :D

I had to laugh at the kitties finding the treats in the cupboard. I have a door to my kitchen that I keep closed so the kitties can't get in the cupboards. I didn't get it shut all the way one day and when I went in, MC was sitting on the stove licking grease from a pan. LOL Kitties will find a way to get to the "good stuff" if they can.

Eddie you are a rock star!!! Set a good example for Skooter....I am hoping he will be joining you one of these days!

Foster (soon-to-be-forever) kitty Blueberry
Couldn't resist that cat on your chest could you? :):):):) So, he's the kitty instigator. Cat food in this house is in a standalone cupboard, without counters below it. We wouldn't have survived Neko's early days of acromegaly without it. Good luck keeping the treat cupboard kitty free.

Oh, and Happy Day 5! Go Eddie. :D

Thank goodness those treats were FD friendly.

Go Eddie, Go! Your co-conspirator Zeke says he's really happy to see you doing so well and thinks we should get more co-conspirators to join us.

hahaha pretty funny kitty stories! And i'm happy Blueberry has found a good home! ;):)

My 2 year old orange kitty, Frodo, is the one I think is responsible for strange banging noises that we've been hearing every night. We put the kitties downstairs, close the door to the stairs and head for bed. Then the banging begins. Finally realized what it is - "someone" either Frodo or McGee, is opening the cupboard door in the downstairs bathroom. No treats in there - nothing but cleaning supplies and paper towels, but I'm sure that's what the noise is. It takes him a few attempts before he succeeds in keeping it open - in the meantime, it bangs shut with each try. Little squirt.

Hahah! Blueberry B**b-stomper. ;) I will say that he has slowly but surely decided that DH is his favorite bean. BB leaps up into DH's arms, nuzzles his face, touches his face with his paws, and generally adores him. :cat: We haven't put his paperwork in yet, but I'm assuming our rescue group won't object to us adopting him after being in the program for two years. o_O He's such a weirdo *ahem* "quirky" I should say, that some of his idiosyncrasies turn off potential adopters, but we love him just the way he is. :joyful:

Tonight some of the kitties took turns in the fenced in portion of the backyard, playing in the grass and checking stuff out. Eddie's a notorious fence jumper, so he has to be watched like a hawk. Reekoe, our tubby old man immediately figured out that there are are flock of chipmunks that hang out along the edge of the fence. He was outside for five minutes when the chub-a-tub ambushed and caught a big fat chipmunk, and ran into the garage and let it go. The chipmunk ran back out of the garage after we shooed it with a broom, so presumably it survived to play another day.

Even though Eddie was green at PMBG I couldn't help myself and tested at +4 to confirm he went down, and he did go down to a lovely 77. :D
