Glad to be able to give Doodles the right dose...I'm sure she'll be happy too! She's not liking the ear thing, she told me if she's getting pierced she should at least get diamond kitty studs, she has suggested

so sorry...after she is done eating...just got a little crazy and forgot what I wrote in the first post :(
Doodles program has been (with the N) up at 6 for breakfast then a shot at 6:30 then the same at night. In between I have been feeding her about every two hours trying to put
some weight back on. But I am confused with the BG testing because I know that when she eats her numbers will be higher, so do I take when she hasn't had anything to eat or just stay
with the normal routine and just BG test on the +'s ? And...when it is time for her shot and it has not been a full 12 but say 30 minutes prior can I shoot anyway? From what I understand she is building
a storage shed to pull from if needed. IDK just confused and over analyizing now :sad: thanks tired mommie and tired doodles of mom being worried >"<

Don't worry about it, we are here to help take some of the stress away.
You will want to always BG test before eating at PS time.
You're right the food can make the numbers go up, which can give an inaccurate number because it is influenced by food.
There are times early shots are fine. You would want to post here first and get advice before doing that -- just like you did.
I assume we are past the time you wanted to shoot a little early this morning, correct?

ETA: For today let's just stick as close to the 12/12 as possible.

I went ahead and gave her shot at 6:30. She seems to be fine, she had a great breakfast and seems to be more normal even though numbers are still high.
I don't think she ate much last night, and believe the BG test to be right. The insulin I was using before was milky in color and easier to see in the needle, the clear is a little freaky at first.
I believe Doodles had a good day yesterday too. Thanks for all your help. heidi and doodles >"<

Does that mean 6:30a was a little early or regular time? It helps to talk in +hrs rather than actual o'clock time.
I remember a funny story about someone who posted that her husband asked what time dinner was and she replied " at+6."
We learn to think in terms of +hrs it is easier.
