Oy, what a day this has been!
Cinco has added yet more evidence to the case I'm building of a conspiracy to get rid of the bean.
Minka had her acupuncture appointment today. We needed to leave at about +3, so I grabbed a quick "out the door" test and did not go out the door after all! 46?!
Are you kidding me???? So I called the vet and told her I'd be late and did she want to reschedule. She said she had another appointment after me, but as long as I was leaving within the next 30 minutes, we were still on. So I waited, after giving Cinco some 8% with a drop of karo and tested again. 40?
Seriously?! I threw his supplies in a bag, along with some 8% and 16% and packed him up and took him with us. I stopped on the way to test and got 42. I gave him some food, but all he wanted was out of the carrier, so he didn't eat it.
I'm very lucky that I didn't get a speeding ticket and that Dr. Kress is so patient and accommodating. Cinco carried on the entire drive, and was still carrying on when I transferred him to his stroller (he's too heavy for me to carry with the car carrier) and took him inside. Once in our little room I took him out and put him on the floor, and he laid down and was quiet!
I tested again, and even without his eating he was up to 68. Perhaps it was the stress of the ride, but he usually drops when stressed, so I don't know. Back in the car he carried on and tried to break out of the carrier, so I let him out and he plopped down, first in the litter box, then under my feet (uh, no!). I pulled over and dumped him in the back seat, where he stayed either on the seat or on the floor until we got home, just grumbling every now and then so I knew he still wasn't happy. He was up to blue when we got home.
So here's my question: Cinco has had a LOT of green on this dose, including several visits to the below 50 zone, even on the occasions where we have shaved a drop. He didn't get under 40 today because I gave him 8%, but he was AT 40. Should I reduce tomorrow? If not, should I do a BCS tomorrow morning? I have my appointment with my rheumatologist to get my shots in the two fingers she couldn't do last month. I will have to leave at +4.5 and will likely be gone until +8 or so. It's supposed to be cool and rainy, so if worse came to worst, I could take him with me and leave him in the car during my appointment - about a half hour, but I really don't want to do that. Thoughts?
Meanwhile, Minka didn't look comfy this morning, but I gave her the usual tummy meds and when I brought her breakfast about an hour later she started eating and cleaned her plate! She even had another snack during fluids!
She looked much better. Dr. Kress has been offering her treats since day one, and she has always refused them. Today she ate them!
Dr. Kress was delighted. She's eaten about half her dinner so far.
Harvey is his usual starving self and Sasha is still benefitting from the morning Ondansetron.
DH and DFIL just called to say they were in Miami, about to board their flight to Bolivia. DFIL thanked me for "letting" Mark go! Like I had a choice? Mark's lucky he still has his parents, and that his dad is healthy and active and he should spend as much time with him as he can, while he can. How could I have a problem with that? I should have told my DFIL that it was fine with me as long as he takes us BOTH on a vacation next time - somewhere I'd enjoy going!
I am going to go fix myself something to eat and have a glass or two of wine before it's time to start evening meds, fluids, etc.
Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Carla & Callie, Deanna & Billie and Rose & Zoey.
Cautious cheers for Wendy's civvie who may NOT have cancer, after all. Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.

to Angela.
