OH WOW - and what to say about yesterday. Reds to start, pinks in the middle, splashed with a little yellow, and then he sets up a dive mode thing the PM cycle. :o   :? I truly did expect the high numbers in the AM cycle. He dove on Thursday morning to the Green lagoon, and with the PM cycle we were headed up. I had just hoped that it wouldn't be red... It really has been so long since we have seen red. I really hate red, more than I hate pink.... Well Mannie - we keep on truckin'! Think blue, think green!! Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D Mannie had a great morning with DGS yesterday - what fun. They met at the top of the stairs, exchange the usual greetings, followed by Nicholas making sure Mannie had all his nanners with him (which still cracks me up: one by one they are delivered), and finished up with a camp-out by the Nanner King at the breakfast table.   He was convinced that Nicholas would have something he would like, and so wnated to share.  Poor Mannie! He was not thrilled with the apple-cinnamon oatmeal, or the blueberries :? :? .... They both compromised and shared a few pieces of chicken. Happy DGS! :-D  Happy Mannie! :-D  This morning we had a great test, shoot and clean plate club - AND the auto feeder still continues to be used by Mannie, and Elsa still thinks it has her name on it, and is ever so happy when he chooses to ignore it.... Some things just never change. Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Have a great day everyone! I really hope to be today. Paws crossed that Mannie gives me a permission slip. Goal is Eastern Washington: Ancient Lakes. It is desert hike, with a cluster of four very pretty lakes. Hmmmmm.... wonder if I'll find any rattlesnakes.

Hey everybody!!! I Gots to day THANK YOU to all my friends for the bestest ever annifursary party - you guys are the best!! And the fuds! WOO HOO!!!! THANKS YOUS!!! OK OK OK.... I am still so excited. well - lets do something fun. maybe the sand dunes, and the dune buggys? Tess???? Are they dry? can we, huh? maybe some grillin' and stuff after that? What'd'ya guys think? Let me know - I am ready for anything! ~~ Mannie

And completely OT: Photos from Nicholas's and my adventures yesterday: Swimming, Coal Creek, and a visit to his mom's work place. What a busy day, but it sure was fun! I've also included the FaceBook link for anyone who want to see the whole lot of photos, and the videos: Swimming, Nicholas at Coal Creek, and A Day at Mom's

Re: 5/12 Mannie AMPS 197

Hi guys,
Nice AMPS, Mannie. I think it's "safe" for your mamabean to go on her hike to the Ancient Lakes (sounds neat).

Michelle, those are great pics of your little "River Rat"! What fun he is having. And it is so neat the way that Nicholas and Mannie interact. Have a fine hike today.

Ella

Yo Mannie, GREAT PARTY last night. Boy, did we ever have fun. Hope you liked the giant cake! Dunes sound good for today. See ya later,
Rusty

Re: 5/12 Mannie AMPS 197

Hi Michelle, nice AMPS there for Mannie. Let's keep a nice surf today, how about it Mannie. Cute with the oatmeal and Mannie. Yeah, chicken much better or some of those Goldfish crackers to go along, right Mannie. :-D Your hike sounds awesome Michelle. Is that one you've been on before? Cant wait to see the pics. Enjoy and hope the weather is perfect?

Mannie, what a party yesterday for your Annifursary. I am still stuffed, but I can manage some grillin today at the dunes. Sounds great, and the weather should be nice up there. See ya at the crub, Mags

Re: 5/12 Mannie AMPS 197, +2 220

Breakfast was fun yesterday with those two - what a bond they have. and yes on the hike - this is one I do every year - it is beautiful: a desert setting and then at the end you find these 4 small wonderful lakes. Outstanding! It is 100% sun there, temps in the 70's. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 5/12 Mannie AMPS 197, +2 220

Michelle, your hike sounds truly awe-inspiring. Take some pictures if you can and post. I will then be able to picture the place while I am trying to deep breathe all my stress out!

Very nice that Mannie has given you the permission slip. Looks like a great day all around. Have fun!

Re: 5/12 Mannie AMPS 197, +2 220

Yep permission granted so enjoy your hike. Sounds like a great trip, but it must be quite a drive to get there. Do you ever see any rock art up there? When we go to the desert it's usually to hike to see pictographs. Here's a favorite in the Mojave National reserve. The rock is about 40 feet tall and the base is covered w/ images.

Mannie! What a blowout! I'm glad you liked the cake, Rusty and I worked hard. We could barely carry it! The dunes are clear and sunny, buggies are ready. Then some sunbathing and grilling! WOOT! -- Tess

Re: 5/12 Mannie AMPS 197, +2 220

Hmm, flat yellow, what do you have planned for the evening, Mannie? Hope you had a great hike, Michelle.
Liz

Re: 5/12 Mannie AMPS 197, +2 220

Hmmmmm.... wonder if I'll find any rattlesnakes.

You're wondering about encountering rattlesnakes....and I can't get past wondering if you'll meet up with Naked Hiker Guy!!!

Re: 5/12 Mannie PMPS 325

325 at PMPS. well.... at least I know he was safe wile I was gone. then again: who knows: this is Mannie. For all i know he could have gone green, and I missed it!

Hike was great!! Not too hot either - maybe 76-80. I took lots oh photos, so I shall post some in Mannie's condo tomorrow. OH!: one snake. :-D Though I don't think he was a rattlesnake: no rattle, and the head wasn't right - though he did kinda have that pattern to the skin.

Hi Georgia - it was a good hike, and the photos are a given. I took LOTS! This place is our version of the desert, alot of it was formed ages ago by glaciers, so there are lot of canyons too. I enjoy the place, but it sure isn't green like it is over on out side of the hills. The lakes that a nestled in the canyons are very pretty. Yes, Mannie did - no cue what he did today. :?

Hi Ann - love the photo! It is beautiful there! We have alot of formations like that, but no rock art. bummer on that. the drive is long one: 2.5-3 hours each way, just under 6 total. I barely made it home n time for Mannie's shot. :o   :? :? :?

Hi Liz- well it was flat.... til pmps. We shall see what he decides to do with this. And thanks! The hike was great!!

Celi - OMG! I had forgotten about naked hiker guy. I haven't been back to that trial since I saw him - I will have to do it again. For the scenery, not the naked hiker guy!

Tess - I LOVE blowouts!! heeheehee. the cake was so cool - I loved it. It was a huge surprise, and made me very happy. I can't believe we are it all! :? COOL on the dunes and the buggys! I am so stoked! what a great day today will be. WOO HOO: Grillin'! ~~ Mannie

Re: 5/12 Mannie PMPS 325

Glad you had such a great hike today, Michelle. and Mannie had fun with the gang. I think that rock in Ann's picture is an image in itself: it looks alive! Almost like a giant Muppet.

Ella

Re: 5/12 Mannie PMPS 325, +2 266

266 @ +2. YAY - coming down. Remember Mannie - slowly....

Hi Ella - Thanks - it was a good one. It felt great to have the old pack on the back. I agree on Ann's photo - loved it. It really does look like it has a life of its own. I thought of a Muppet too!

Re: 5/12 Mannie PMPS 325, +2 266, +4 192

WOOT!!! Yes, Mannie! What a guy to wait until the bean is home. :thumbup

Muppet? Really? I thought of a hawk!

Re: 5/12 Mannie PMPS 325, +2 266, +4 192

He saved all the excitement until you got home! Headed for the lagoon, Mannie?

I'm glad you enjoyed your hike..the temp sounds wonderful! Love snakes :-D

199 @ +5.5. Well- WOO HOO! Perhaps we have a nice blue surf going on here. A little high, but I'll take it! :-D

Hi Ann - yes indeed - so so nice of him to wait until I get home.  oh wow on the hawk.... that I can see, especially in the top part. LOL: A Muppet hawk.

Hi Marje - well, no lagoon I'm afraid, unless he continues down, but with that +5.5 it doesn't look likely. thx on t hike - it was fun. temp was good - warm enuf, but not hot. YAY! Snakes rule. :-D
