Spa day was fabulous! I feel like part of the human race again! I had no idea I'd become so dependent on those services! I guess I've been treating myself to salons for longer than I'd realized!

Things were certainly different in the salons - the nail salon asks you to knock on the door before entering - if you're wearing your mask, they invite you in for your appointment. Everyone was wearing masks, the workers all wearing masks and gloves. The place was sparkling clean and they had new plexiglass shields up on the tables between the worker and the client. They also had a curtain type thing - something like a shower curtain I'd guess - I didn't touch it - but it was something more than fabric - between the pedi chairs so you're separated from the chairs on either side of which neither on either side of me were occupied - and they have only enough people working to use every other table for the nails - and the phone rang non-stop. Everyone is trying to get in as soon as possible to restore themselves!

They people in the salon were thrilled to get back to work and said they'd take appointments as late in the day as necessary - and then starting all over again tomorrow as early as 8 a.m.! They said they didn't get a business loan - although they had applied they were told there were no funds left...small family owned business left to fend for themselves...sad. But they're hard workers and are doing everything they can to provide a safe, clean environment for everyone. First thing they asked me to do when I walked in was to go wash my hands - and everyone who came in for an appointment was asked to do the same.

Personally I think that's an excellent practice for any business where they're forced to touch our hands - as that's where the germs are transferred from! I hope that practice continues forever. As for the masks...ugh...so hot...but I'm working on getting used to it...everywhere I go that mask is on my face...who needs lipstik?

It's back to work for me today - gotta catch up now! No one does it for me while I'm off...the downside of taking a day off...

I hope you all have a wonderful day and that your kitties surf safely!
