Yesterday's Condo

So yesterday was a lot of fun. As I'm leaving work, the news/weather on NPR is saying we may have storms. I live about 10 min. from campus and there are big, fat raindrops hitting my windshield as I'm pulling into my garage. I close the garage door and there is a torrential downpour. As I'm getting Gabby's food and shot ready, the power goes out. Then the weather alert sound on my phone goes off -- there's a tornado warning. Well, the tornado warning could be for anywhere in the county. Then tornado sirens go off (after TFS). I coax the kitties into my still unfurnished den, where we hang out for about 30 min. They're confused. I'm annoyed. Gizmo starts harassing Gabby who's yelling at him. The power was back about 3.5 hours later.

Omg! That seems stressful. You said you guys hung out in the den, do you not have a shelter? I was under the assumption that places where tornado sirens are needed, people have basements or shelters.

At least Gabby (like her name ;) ) still had descent numbers, not going too high, yesterday with all that crazy!

No basement or shelter. The den is an interior room with no windows. I just shut the doors. From what I've been told, there are numerous warnings but few, if any tornadoes that touch down in the city itself.

Morning Sienne :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Whoa on yesterday.... I can only imagine: scary and annoying. Well glad all there are safe.

You are looking good this morning Gabby. Nice green at +2.5. :D Surf well, 'K?

Have a great day. I hope all goes well.

Welcome to tornado warning world. I live right beside the siren so no worries for me. You were right to go to an interior room with no windows. :) I am sorry the kitties didn't like it but they will get used to it. Mine hear the siren and most of them go into the basement right away. Practice I guess. The good news is it should be over by the end of May. You can set you phone to a smaller warning area I believe. The sirens are set up with NOAA. Sorry abut the power that I am sure was caused by a line going down in the wind.
Nice start to the day for Gabby though.
