Yesterday's Adventure
I'm later than I intended today - very hectic around here. Stair guys were here finishing up (the railing looks wonderful), our contractor friend was here doing some yard work for me, I had to help Mark get his stuff together for his trip (his medications, etc.), and of course, Cinco was back in the lagoon.
That cat is going to have webbed feet pretty soon, but I like it, I like it (anti-jinx, of course)! Today's surf was nice and safe and relaxing - just what I needed. Good boy, Cinco. That's just how Mama wants you to do it (except could you maybe bring the PS down just a skosh (we beans - never satisfied
)?)!
I thought this was going to be another bad day for Minka. She didn't want to eat and was kind of huddled, looking uncomfortable, so I gave her some SEB, and half an hour later she was unhuddled and eating! I don't know if the SEB could have worked that fast, or if she would have been better anyway, but I was very relieved. She ate all her breakfast and has had two small snacks. Win!
Sasha has eaten fairly well, even coming downstairs in search of a snack.
Harvey has been set on whine today - constantly wanting his food dish filled. I don't know if I had mentioned here my quest for the perfect dish for him? He has developed this habit in the past year or so of licking his food across the plate and over the edge.
Drives me crazy. The tray under his dish is always a mess. I've tried all kinds of plates and bowls and even ordered one online that was supposed to solve the problem. Fail. The basic idea was right - higher in the back. However, the bowl itself was too small. I don't think he liked the enclosed feeling it gave him. Also, where the bottom and sides meet is almost a right angle, and when food gets pushed there, he can't get to it. Then I had an inspiration as I was cleaning out my cat supply cabinet. I took the base from a water dispenser. The bowl was round with sides about 1.5 inches high and sloped from bottom to sides, and then there's a slope in the back up to where the water reservoir would go, and 1.5 inch sides there. It's a little big, but it completely solved the problem!
I'm feeling pretty clever and proud of myself.
My contractor's brother is something of an artist and a while ago he asked me for some pictures of my cats so he could paint them. I never heard any more and forgot all about it. Last night he came to bowling with something for me. I almost cried right then and there. It was a perfect watercolor of our GA Civvie, Kisa. See for yourself how well he did. Here's the painting and the photo it was taken from:
I can't wait to see the ones he does of the other kitties.
Gotta go get my shoes on so I can take DH to the airport. BIC solo starts shortly.
Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Carla & Callie and Rose & Zoey.
Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.
Angela is still in our thoughts, missing her beloved Blackie.
On a happier note, cheers to Zeke and Eddie on their OTJ Trials!

Cinco did react like what are you doing? when I took him into the bathroom to do his shot and DH wasn't there! It's not like I haven't done it before, Cinco!
