Thanks all for the birthday wishes, I had a lovely birthday/Mother's day weekend. On Saturday Jon gave me the day off he did all the cooking including baking me a yummy lemon cake and taking me for a picnic lunch in the park. He also did all the cleaning of the house and litter boxes and laundry. So all I did was sit on the couch, play with the animals and crochet. For mother's day I got some beautiful flowers granted picked from out of our yard but its the thought that counts and I already knew the budget was going to be tight this week since weather kept him from working two days last week.

Well Cassanova ripped off the tutu, took a flying leap clean over the pond and drove head first into the grass.

Also discovered while I have to bribe Cali with tuna to get her to eat Friskies she'll scream down the house for 9-lives. She simply loves it and does the cutest little dance now while waiting for me to fix everyone's plates. She's definitely gonna have to go home with the kitty pi she has here because it's the only place she'll let me test her. She's adorable about it. She runs and jumps in her little bed, then I tell her don't look and she burys her face in the side of the bed until I get the pokey out of the way. Once the meter beeps she starts looking for her treat lol

Sounds like a great birthday and Mother's Day Mel! I'm guessing most of the folks here would take your description of taking a day off with someone else doing the cooking and cleaning as the best present ever! ;-)

Look at those kitties and their lovely #'s. It's so nice to hear how much better Cali is doing in such a short time. I love that she loves her kitty pi and knows just what to do. Max will sometimes walk over to his testing area and wait, even though he doesn't need a test, simply because he knows it's the place where he gets treats. I give him a treat when he does cause I think he's so darn cute and I want him to like that spot.

Ya Jon keeps apologizing for not buying me something and I keep telling him that he got me EXACTLY what I wanted. Even after 7 years he still can't believe I'm just not a material girl. Lol I'm more tickled to get a big bouquet of lilacs picked from our bush than a dozen long stem roses and would much rather eat tuna sandwiches and macaroni salad on a blanket in a park on a gorgeous spring afternoon than dressing up for dinner at a nice restraunt. Kinda a simple country girl at heart. Oh sure I love putting on the pretty dresses and the high heels every now and then and painting the town red. What girl doesn't? But in general I'm really just a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl.

His last wife was extremely high maintance and would have been p.o.ed if he hadn't showered her with expensive gifts so he's had to be retrained. Lol
