AMPS 293. Still high so I bumped the dose up to 2.25. No overnight vomit. Real good appetite still, ate all solid food this morning. Some solid poop in the box that might be his, not sure, but in any case he hasn't been heading to the box every few hours so far, so hopefully things are improving and I can confirm here in a little bit.

That's a good report. I hope the dosecrease helps and you soon see more blues and greens.
Be aware if he's in a bounce from the last greens, it may break at any time, so be prepared to test tonight just in case.

Hope his BMs continue to improve. I'm glad Wendy was able to give you some advice on feeding and IBD, let us know if you have any more questions.

Tonight is cycle 6 since the lows, that presumably triggered the bounce, usually bounces will last a max of 6 cycles, I'd be watchful if you see a sudden dip in numbers early in that pm cycle, if he decides to clear the bounce tonight he may need closer monitoring this evening.

Yeah I'm hoping the bounce clears soon.

Blood ketones are at 1.0, starting to get up there. Weight is up a bit, bit he might just be constipated like he was a couple days ago when he bumped up. Still no diarrhea today but I haven't been able to confirm he's making normal BMs either.

Really need these numbers to start moving in the right direction.

PMPS 287. Blood ketones up to 1.3. Starting to get concerned. If they're not coming down by the morning I'm going to take him to the ER. He still had diarrhea a bit ago but he's not going to the box as frequently so that's good. I'm going to give him another sub-q bubble after he eats.

With the ketones going up, I would be concerned too. It's good you can give him some sub-qs. How much are you giving him? I see you upped his dose again tonight. I understand your thinking. Just be careful, if his bounce should break. Get some extra tests in tonight. Will he eat his food with some extra water added?

200ml

Yeah the bounce should be breaking anytime so I'll get several tests on him tonight. No he doesn't really like extra water in the food and I don't want to mess with his diet right now since he's finally eating normally.

Continuing the conversation about raw from yesterday, can you get a small bit of ground meat from a butcher? Or if you aren’t vegetarian, have him try a bit of your own. Some kitties start with lightly cooked and work their way to raw, but they have to like the texture. The way I transitioned was starting with a tsp of raw in with Neko’s canned, then gradually increased the percent. She loved it, transitioned right away. Civvie took a couple weeks. A number of the raw manufacturers have trial packs. I am not as familiar with the US brands, but I know Primal had a trial pack of different proteins.

Paws crossed on the ketones. You could be seeing some NDW.
