Good morning sugar-kitty beans,

Hope everyone had a great weekend and a Happy Mama Beans Day! I woke up this morning to find it snowing great guns, whoa! Spring in Calgary  It just stopped and any accumulation will likely be gone this afternoon.

Lulu`s shot was later than usual as I bring her back on schedule. The fun part is coming up...the pilling. Just giving her (and me) a short break before kitty burrito time :nailbiting:

Have a fabulous day everyone!

Addendum: well, just finished the pilling, blood all over the place (mine), that polysporin sure comes in handy. That little rascal didn`t swallow (my bad aim), but chewed and then spit that awful tasting stuff out. So I tried to give her the pieces she spit out and that`s when sweet little Lulu turned into a tiger...yeowch!! A pedicure is coming her way later today...

Sorry the pilling was so difficult. They don't like it when they taste the pill. Then they know what you're trying to give them. I hope you heal quickly.

Thanks, Carla, I'll be okay. She's not trying to be vicious, just wanted to get away from me. Can't say I blame her. Just took her +4 and yay! she's blue. After the reward treat, she's laying in a sunbeam, purring away :):cat:

Yup, sometimes they can be such pills about taking their pills! Hope the process goes more smoothly next time!

Love that blue!

Yeah, we learned a long time ago to trim claws before administering pills! Much easier on the beans' skin! Do you freehand or use a pill shooter? I have much better luck with a shooter, myself. I also put any pill that doesn't have a hard coating into a gel cap so it won't dissolve before it gets swallowed. Make pilling a bit easier. I also use a cat sack for my most difficult patient, Harvey. Just a few tips I've learned along the way.

Nice drop, Lulu. You headed for the lagoon? Keep it safe.

Thanks, Marilyn & Tricia.
I freehand. I got pill pockets, two different flavours -- nope! I asked about pill shooters at PetSmart a couple of days ago and they didn't know what I was talking about. Showed me pill pockets, which I already had. I tried to describe what I was looking for and the young man looked at me as though he thought I was nuts.
These pills are coated, but if she gets her teeth into them because I have missed the aim for the back of her throat, then I'm in for some pain. But I figure if she can tolerate these ear pricks, injections, and kitty burrito pilling sessions, then I can stand a few scratches :p

Tonight`s PMPS went without a hitch, and so did the pilling. Woohoo:woot:! I had perfect aim, right down the hatch, no blood shed by Mama tonight.

Oh...ouch on those claws! That's exactly how we can tell when Shadow needs a pedicure - she doesn't try to hurt us when we give her pills, she just tries to push our hands away. Once those claws get too long, it really can cause some damage! :P

Is it weird that I'm kind of jealous you got some snow this morning? We didn't get any at all this winter and, while I wouldn't have wanted tons of it week after week, I do like to see it just for a few days.

Lulu's giving you some really nice numbers with those blues today...looking good! :)
