Hi LL!

Eddie and I are still alive. Bad, bad bean not only failed to post here, but I actually started slacking on Eddie's SS since he was being very boringly (and nicely) blue and green. I've missed so much! So terribly sad to read about some of the losses here in LL - Blackie, Milo, Scooter - and thrilled to read about some of the OTJs - Tonka, Rooh, Rosa, and Panther!

After Eddie's dental on 4/1, it took a solid two-and-a-half weeks before he really seemed to feel pretty good and was racing around playing like normal. Then he was coughing for a few days - maybe allergies? It's been so nice, we had windows open, and that seemed to coincide with the coughing. He had a taco raid in there too. We did have to go back up in dose to 0.25, and then after a couple weeks took it back down to 0.125.

Then, we bought a house and closed in less than four weeks between the offer and the close date. We started moving in this past weekend. The cats were the first load. Eddie hasn't coughed since we moved in. We had a leaky roof in the apartment and it makes me wonder if there was mold.... Eddie's been having an absolute blast racing around the new house. We have WAY more space than we did in the apartment. He feels great!

Since our lease isn't up until the end of May we're moving in bits and pieces, which is kind of nice as it gives us a chance to do things at a bit more of a leisurely pace. Eddie got his normal shot in the new house on Friday night, but then was at 67 on Saturday morning. Since we were going to be running around all day, we decided to skip. Low and behold, he held normal numbers under 100 all day. Even though he really hasn't technically earned the last reduction, we decided to skip the PM dose too to see what would happen, and he's been holding in normal numbers since. He's coming down from the low blue pre-shots nicely after he eats. We do not have the auto feeders set back up yet, so I'm hoping once we're back up and running with those and Eddie's getting his customary +9 snack, it will nudge the numbers down just a hair. If not, back on the juice he goes! Notably, Eddie's 18 month anniversary is on Wednesday this week.

So many trials going on right now, including Zeke's - another long-termer. How cool is that having two long-termers on trial at the same time??

Prayers and vines for all kitties and beans in need, including a sprinkling of OTJ vines for my boy, Eddie.

You get my feel-good condo of the day award! What a lot of great news and I'm so glad to see you and an Eddie condo! I'm thrilled he's on on OTJ trial - and I didn't realize Zeke was on one too. Laura had tried before but only got maybe 2 cycles into it before deciding he wasn't ready. I haven't seen her post so now I need to go look.

I'm really glad for you and celebrating day 3!!!

I was so hoping this was the news you were talking about!!!!! So glad to hear Eddie and assuming the others, are adjusting to the new house!!! Are you still in EP? Skooter is looking forward to an OTJ party for Mr. Eddie!!

Congrats on the house!

I've looked at you ss lately and saw there weren't any numbers. I wondered if you were waiting until Eddie was OTJ. IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU. You can do it Eddie!:):D

Phew! +4/67 :D This is nerve wracking!!! :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

@julie & punkin (ga) and @carfurby Thanks so much for stopping by! Eddie had been so close for so long, we decided to give it a try sans juice. If it doesn't work, then at least we tried it. We were just talking the other day that with him being so very well regulated, we had a routine we could live with even if he never goes OTJ.

@MollynSkooter Hi Molly! We are in Minnetonka now, although our side of the street is Minnetonka and the other side of the street is Hopkins. We'd been looking at houses for about 8 weeks without really seeing anything we liked, and this one popped up, we beat out another bidder, and we had a closing date in just over three weeks. It was a whirlwind getting everything done before close. No more apartment life for us! :joyful: Eddie and three of the other cats are happy as clams to explore and run up and down the stairs and blast around on the hardwood floors and look out all the windows. Our fraidy cat Princess has taken up residence in my closet, but is very slowly getting braver.

@tiffmaxee I was a bad bean and stopped putting his numbers on his SS. It was frustrating for several weeks after his dental after we lost ground, then he had some random higher blues due to his coughing I think, which has stopped after getting him moved in. I actually waited a couple days after starting the trial just to see if would stick for more than a day before getting my hopes up LOL.

@Laura&Chichi Its always exciting to see any cat go OTJ, but it really is encouraging when someone over a year goes off. I think Angela and Blackie gave me a little more resolve that there's always a chance no matter how long it's been. Eddie's 18 month annifursary is this week.

I celebrate every single kitty that goes OTJ - if only all of them would!

But there is something extra sweet about a cat that's been diabetic for longer where the bean has worked SO hard to get their cat regulated. It's just great. :D

What a lovely report on Eddie!

And how exciting for you and Eddie that he's got to a trial! :D Seeing a cat who's been on insulin longer term getting to this point really does give hope to others that anything IS possible with an owner as dedicated as you are!

Now come on Eddie - you can do this! Happy Day 3!! :D :D :D

What great news for you and for Eddie! If you can, you might want to see if you can give Eddie a snack at around +9 and see if the food stimulates his pancreas to produce it's own insulin and pull his AM/PMBG numbers down.

I hope you and DH love your new place as much as I'm loving my new home.

Jen, this is soooo exciting. I've been wondering where you guys were, but I knew you had a very busy job so I just hoped all was well. Apparently it is! (anti-jinx)

Congrats on Day 3, and on the new house. We'll be counting the days with you and cheering Eddie on!
