+2.75/234
+4.2/226
+8.4/170
Pmps 143

Looking at Sprocket's ss, I'm actually thinking this is the sort of range he might be trying to settle in at the moment and it's being disrupted by bounces. Because it's happening every 2-3 days, it kind of feels to me as though this is where he wants to be all the time. And if he could just stop bouncing in between, he might actually be looking really good most of the time on this dose.

But i cant do this every other night. What is going on??
His ear is getting hard like scar tissue
What is going on is the his body is starting to utilize the exogenous insulin better and get him into better numbers. This is the goal. Start with a +2 and if he continues to drop you will need to monitor some more. Giving a little LC food will keep him surfing. If he gets close to 50 then you will need to bring out the HC food.

1st time he kept dropping and i tested at +1 & every hr. Feed alot too.
2nd time same testing but +1 he went up then down n had to feed alot to keep from dropping more.
I know i need to let him drop but its so scary to do when insulin is supposed to make him drop at these times but to make sure he doesnt go too low am feeding.

I say shoot and try not to panic when/if he starts to go down. Let him drop a bit and see - he might just pick a nice green number without your having to do anything. You'll never know if he can surf on his own if you don't let him try it! It's like taking the training wheels off a kid's bicycle. If you leave then on, he'll never show you whether he needs them or not.

When you get the +1, it could be a bit higher due to a food hike, if it is lower then give a little LC food to promote a nice slow dropping.

I think the problem is that we still don't know that he would keep dropping if you weren't feeding him more (and more carbs). I can understand why you're assuming he would, but it usually just doesn't work that way. The majority of cats, once they see these numbers, will hang out in them just fine for hours just on their regular food (both amount and carb level). I feel as though you actually need to try this for your own peace of mind so you're not worrying and feeling as though you're going to have to force food into him every hour if it starts happening every cycle as it should.
