Just a bit nervous. My vet wants me to take a reading every hour for 12 hours. I'm doing it to make her happy that I changed his dose without her being in in the decision. Anyway, he's 175 at +11. I know 150 is the hold for 20 minutes and retest number, but ugh. Wall-e's been going green or almost green every night.

Not quite. On this forum, if you are following TR, below 150 is the number below which you post for help when you first see numbers that low. Above that, as long as you have HC and testing supplies and can monitor, SHOOOOT! The lower the preshot, the flatter the cycle.

I only see one night of green?

For what it's worth, Wall-e is getting close to due for an increase. She is actually due, but because you missed data for the first couple days, I wait for a cycle or two more of data.

Thank you! I'm just nervous because when he drops, he drops fast and a lot. But I'll just watch him. Time to feed now!

You are right, they can drop fast and a lot when they start in higher numbers. Take a look around some of the other people's posts, and see what the numbers look like when they start in low yellow or high blues. For what it's worth, I was a mess the first time I shot blue. Neko bounced right away.

I'm a mess because his vet that dx him had him in novolin and didn't tell me how to properly use it, no testing. He ended up in 10 units and in the er after a seizure. So I get really nervous

You are a long way from 10 units and on a much better/gentler insulin now. :bighug: Even without your horrible experience, it's good to be careful in lower numbers.

I agree. It just sucks that it usually happens at night. His seizure happened when I was sleeping. Not sure how I heard him to wake up m I think my other cat altered me because she jerked awake, while next to me

Are you asking about my previous post? I called it hypo. I know it wasn't below 50, but I was panicking because he was dropping very fast and by a lot. I was worried that it was going to happen
No. I meant the seizure on Novolin.
