Never heard back from vet yesterday w/ bloodwork results.
Pink and red are the colors of choice lately. I'm so done in.

Happy mothers day to all the FD mamabeans and those w/ 2 legged babies as well
 
apparently the vet did call back yesterday, but very late, while I was at the service so it went straight to voicemail on my phone. She indicated "nothing dramatic jumped out" of the bloodwork, but does want me to call and discuss it with me on Mon. And of course, still waiting on the urine culture. She also talked about wanting to discuss "the plan"... We'll see what that means. I may yet be on the search for another vet; I get the impression that this place is more upscale and expensive and so far my impression of the 2 women vets is mixed as to how open they are for a 'layperson' to have any knowledge / input into the daily care of a diabetic.
 
I think the plan should be to keep plugging along and get Oren into good numbers. That dose is out there, just gotta find it. I think you've been at this dose long enough to see what it can do and you can increase when it works for you.

Make sure to give Oren some snuggles today, he's your baby. Good news on nothing remarkable in the bloodwork, which means he's OK for a dental I presume.
 
Sorry you are having vet troubles. Of course a layperson should have knowledge and input into their pet's care. Any vet worth their salt is open to that. You are Oren's advocate so don't let them railroad you into doing something you don't think is in Oren's best interests.
Wendy has the plan sorted for you.
Just practise your nodding for the vet!
 
I agree with Wendy....Looks like it's time to go up again

I totally sympathize with the vet problems.....we're on vet #5 here, and even though she's a member of the American Academy of Feline Practitioners, when she starts to "advise" me on China's dose, I do a lot of nodding and smiling.

Remember, Oren is more than just a number, so as long as he's acting OK, that's important too
