Hello!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you fantastic mamabeans!! :bighug:

Billie still has me on my toes with her appy. Today has been good, and yesterday was good, but the two days before that were iffy. She has been picky but eating well when I open the right can...so I have been opening lots of cans. I am hoping we are seeing some improvement but I'm not sure.

She has had a very weird variety of poos in the past few days, which may be because I have been trying all sorts of food to get her to eat. But we have had straining followed by hard hairball poo, stinky soft poo, stinky normal poo, and combinations of hard hairball poo and soft poo. She is taking ondansetron and I'm thinking about starting metronidazole which was the IM vet's idea for a next step.

@rhiannon and shadow thank you for telling me about Rayne! Their limited ingredient products look great. I'm going to call about the kangaroo and squash. If Billie likes it, that's super. If not, Brooklyn will enjoy some more interesting food.

Sending lots of vines to all the kitties and beans needing vines, and so many vines to Angela.

I agree with Carla. I got too carried away trying different foods and messed up Sasha's digestive system! Now I'm careful to only give a small amount of a new food and to offer an old familiar one with it. So far, so good (anti-jinx).

I can empathize with your appy stress, Deanna. It's so agonizing, trying to find something they will eat, let alone something they will eat that is good for them!!! Sending lots of appy and good poo vines, too.

Happy Mamabeans' Day!

you're welcome.
I was happy to find kangaroo.... when I did.
currently I'm thinking our possible problem is ff foods. I'm letting her have a couple of friskies flavors ... to see if it bothers her.

I know people that tried Rayne with mixed success. I agree with the others that all the food changes are messing with his intestines. If he does have IBD you can't change foods quickly without reactions. It's natural to think if you just find the right one all will be well. Even with cats without issues food changes. Need to be done over time.

Thank you for the visits and the vines!! Billie's appy picked up a lot tonight, so I'm pretty happy for now! She is liking Weruva's lamburgini and had a normal poo after eating it, so that's probably a keeper.

At this point, I'm just trying whatever food options I can try to get her to eat well. If I land on a novel protein that she likes, even better. Brooklyn is loving the buffet! She has never turned down a meal.

my vet said it took 6 months before a cat's system could react negatively to a novel protein....
She wanted us to eat kangaroo .... but Shadow burned out on it after 3 weeks... now she sniffs and says addios quickly if I offer it.
So all I can do is much the same, try to find something she'll eat and deal with her symptoms.
