Jimmys having a rough start this morning. Even though He got a fur shot last night his AMPS wasn't a surprising. number (365). I alsodon't think we left enough food out overnight and he was hungry this morning. Scarfed down his chicken...and after testing and shot threw it up. He did have an appetite after that and ate his canned food and drank water. While he was eating I cleaned out the litter which contained a very long but healthy looking poo. Which I think is good because he's been producing minor nuggets since starting insulin. I've been mixing pumpkin in with his am feeding for a few days and it apparently paid off today. Poor guy has it coming out both ends. Going to give him a break and hold off testing until +6 today. :coffee::banghead:

Poor Jimmy. It sounds like the vomit this morning was a scarf and barf from eating too fast. It's good he wanted to eat afterwards.

Yes exactly. For the AMPS is it better to test then feed him, then give him shot? I've been giving him bits of boiled chicken while testing (keeps him happy and occupied) then shoot...and give him morning noms. He has a good appetite but maybe I should switch up order of shot and food to food and shot?

It is better to feed before you give the shot. That way if he ever doesn't want to eat, you won't have given insulin. We usually say test/feed/shoot in that order.
