Sid is hanging in there! He started to have some high bgs last week so I started him on some baytril I had left over and his numbers have improved a bit. His appetite is better too (ANTI JINX!!!!).

Today he had a thyroid panel done and we will get the results back in 10 days or so. His thyroid gland is pronounced but so far his levels have been normal.

He was very naughty and sprayed the couch cushion yesterday!!! So I took care of it with some urine remover and there is no smell but now I will have to keep pee pads or a waterproof sheet covering the couch with a slip cover over it just in case he thinks this is his new litter box. Ugh. Who knows what he was thinking, but sometimes cats do these things.

so glad to hear that Sid is doing pretty well and eating...the spraying thing sucks though
I was always told that white vinegar always take the smell out so they will not do it again...
but I am pretty sure you dont want vinegar smell in your sofa!
Hope he continues to feel better and his test comes back ok!

Glad Sid is doing pretty well .
Cats will be cats and sometimes they spray.
Theres a product called Odor Ban that will get any lingering urine smell out.

I use vinegar all the time. It works great, but if someones inclined to pee on something, they will continue to do so - even if you get the smell out. Dog blankets, cat beds, and anything else that gets it on it - I usually pour a cup or two in with a laundry load. I've got a sensitive nose, and don't smell it once it's washed.
 
I got the results back from the thyroid panel, and he is not hyperthyroid so that is good news! He has not sprayed the couch again that I know of. I have it covered with pee pads now and a slip cover. Let's just hope it was a one time occurrence and he was just being silly.
