Happy May Day!

And happy to see the end of April this year! We are still dealing with the flood in our cellar. No change for the better and maybe one for the worse (foundation sand seeping into the sump hole and through some of the holes in the cement. Beautiful sunshine yesterday and today, but we are expecting rain and showers all week. It is still very difficult to get around in the North Country owing to the closed roads.

Rusty is great. Had a good night. Good shot this morning. Good breakfast. Good everything. Going to take him outside now. We're late today because I was working on the cellar flood for 1 1/2 hours. Edward's shoulder is killing him and he can't work the bucket brigade. He goes to see a chiropractor tomorrow.

Back later,

Hope all the sick kitties are feeling better today.

Re: 5/1 Rusty AMPS 105

Morning guys. oh my.... I am truly sorry for the cellar. There is nothing worse than uncontrolled water, seepage, and what often appears as no end in sight... and more rain to come. I wish you the best, and an end to this nightmare. Positive thought headed your way Ella. For Edward too - I hope there is relief for his shoulder.

very nice amps for Rusty - awesome stuff. Enjoy the outdoors Rusty! Mannie loves his, hope you do too. How are those birds today? has your neighbor cat been by to visit lately?

Rusty - dude!! You wants us kitties to come and help with your cellar? We run a mean bucket brigade, ya know. Maybe you'd like to escape to some sun. We have nice weather today - it is cold, but very sunny! See you later? ~~ Mannie

Geez louise Ella....Hope y'all get a break SOON.....You must be exhausted.

Glad to hear that Rusty has weathered the storms there....Happy outing to you both.

Re: 5/1 Rusty AMPS 105

Would a bilge pump or a submersible pond pump help get the water out? The one that I have does 500 gallons per hour. You can get extra long tubing from the hardware store.

Re: 5/1 Rusty AMPS 105

Much better number for Rusty and I hope he is over his upset with his shots. Now to see him come down to green...I 'm sure he will.

Gosh Ella you've had a time of it. I hope you get that basement clear. Also hope Edward's shoulder gets better. Have a nice day in the sun outside with Rusty.

Hi again,
Been working in the garden for some of the morning. Rusty came out with us, lounged around, and chased a chipmunk. He also explored a bit in the woods (he's hard to see, though; his coloring is like a pile of leaves!). Have to watch him all the time, so not too much work gets done.

Just did another stint in the cellar. The water in one spot is really icy cold. I think we may be into another layer--a colder one. We already have a sump pump, Karrie, a powerful one. It pumps the water into the sewer system. The problem is that much of the water is pretty far from the pump. In any event, it pumps when the sump hole gets full, about every 2 minutes. We have trenches in the floor that run to the pump.

We're taking care of a friend's cat this week and are going over to get her keys. Back later. Still haven't been to any condos!

It sounds like you and Rusty had a great morning outdoors. on top of his great AMPS. :-D

I hope you get a break soon on both the weather and the ground water. It has to end sometime! Right?

Nice day for Rusty. Back to his old self it appears. I'm so sorry about your weather woes. Having to bale water is not fun. Did that many times at the Jersey shore in Nor'easters. I sure hope it ends for you soon. You will have to post some pictures of your garden. Gardening here is problematic due to the heat and sun, I have sun shades for the few plants I have outside but I have my orchids in the shade and they are doing very well. Onward and upward to better weather Ella. Great that you got out on the river.

Oh gosh Ella, I think of you, when I walk in my yard and squish, squish, squish..and you had more rain than we did even.
We had to have a ditch dug years ago, at the back of the property, 'cause living on a hill, it just didn't stop coming, during heavy rains. Plus it's woods behind us, so we got tons of leaves and debris washing down into the yard.
I'm so sorry this just keeps keeping on, for you.

I feel for Edward too. My husband used to get agonizing shoulder pain. He had to get shots for it.
I hope he gets some relief tomorrow from the chiro doc.

Rusty is sooooooo good. :-D I love seeing those greens. :-D

Barb

Thanks everyone. Rusty had a really good day today. Barbara, when I say I worked in the garden, that doesn't mean that I gardened!! It is all maintenance (getting rid of last fall's stalks and overgrown grass). We inherited a lovely garden when we bought this house, but we are not gardeners!! It has returned to it's natural state, I'm afraid.
No progress on the cellar. It's as bad as it could be. And we are expecting a week of rain. All of the water in our cellar is ground water from the snow melt, but rain will contribute to it, I'm sure.

Ni ni everyone,

Ella & Rusty
