Gosh, Moe’s numbers have barely budged all day. He’s just had his 4th dose at 5.0 units. Vet speculates that stress from fleas may be contributing. He has super sensitive skin and is allergic to the bites. He pulls his fur out in chunks when he gets bit, poor guy. Flea meds were just delivered and he’s gotten his dose. The rest of the cats will get theirs later tonight and tomorrow morning.
If the flea treatment doesn’t turn things around, I’m not sure what to do. Time to explore testing for acromegaly and insulin resistance? What else should I be considering? Vet wants abdominal ultrasound to rule out ... something. He has no diarrhea; appetite is excellent. I’m losing hope that this can be controlled.
