I opened a new cartridge of Levemir. The old one was almost out and I’m paranoid it’s not working anymore lol because Ming’s numbers are pooey!

In other news, my mom noticed him coughing and also said a few days ago, he also coughed. So we have noticed since 3 weeks ago, that he has coughed 4 times.

It could be the weather like @Bobbie And Bubba suggested. We get free pet x-rays at work so I’ll talk to my vet and see if getting an x-ray of his lungs is a good idea.

Now I'm paranoid that the old vial wasn't working!!!!! This must be karma because I draw up insulin the improper way (I sometimes squirt the insulin back into the cartridge when I can't get that bubble out).

PMPS = 124

Is this only your second Lev cartridge? Might be worth tossing insulin instead of putting it back in the cartridge, especially with the negative pressure.

I wonder if pollen in the air is affecting Ming. Not like it’s getting washed out of the air lately,

Yeah, I'm not going to take any chances now and won't be pushing insulin back into the cartridge anymore. I probably could've used my first cartridge for another week or so but the numbers are so bad.

I think it's the weather too. Vet said to observe and if it gets worse, it could be worth taking an x-ray. I might ask another vet and see what they think tomorrow.

It’s late but I’m wondering now... if pred makes animals hungry, do we feed? Are they hungry because they actually need food or they just FEEL hungry?

Ming’s always hungry. Could be the pred or could be the numbers. Reminds me I should weigh him. On the plus side, he doesn’t physically look larger. Just the same.

The Pred makes humans hungry so it could be that it does with animals as well. Maybe you could find some no carb snacks to give him in between meals to appease him, like freeze dried chicken, or even poach some and cut up small and give him a little piece to take the edge off his hunger.
