Happy May everyone,

Boy this girl of mine needs to slow down a bit, as @Chris & China said. Chris, there was no PJparty last night, as Mama conked out on the couch without setting an alarm. I need to smarten up, I know. I'll be watching her like a hawk today and WILL set an alarm tonight. I would never forgive myself if Lulu went hypo and no one was able to take care of her because Mama can't stay awake at night. I have a hike planned tomorrow, but if these numbers keep it up, I'll be bowing out. We have a vet appointment this aft, so Lulu will be thrilled about that  There'll also be lots of ear poking today, so she is not going to be a happy kitty today. She's going to be getting lots of Orijen Wild Boar treats today.

Have a great day, all!

If the Orijen Wild Boar treats prevent bloodshed in the household, it sounds like they're well worth using!!

Maybe you could get her used to wearing a harness....then she could go on your hike...could get a special backpack in case she got tired and just pack her up and take her with you.....LOL

OK Lulu...you're looking fantastic, but you need to hop up on your surfboard and ride the waves.....surfing is "In"....diving is "Out"!

@Chris & China - Lulu must have gotten your message telepathically, her BG's up a bit right now, and she's chowing down on lunch.

Cute idea about taking Lulu on a trek. I'd be too scared to take her hiking, though, we hike in the Canadian Rockies -- bears, coyotes, badgers, weasels, cougars, wolves, eagles, to name a few. I do carry bear repellent, but some of these other predators are pretty stealthy and can grab a kitty and be gone in a flash:eek:. I'm pretty mountain-savvy and hike in a group, so feel comfortable for myself, but my Lulu never goes out of the house. She'd think we were going to the vet and would howl and yowl the entire drive out. My friends would be unimpressed, lol.

Speaking of harnesses, I once put a harness on my GA Puddin, and she promptly fell over on the floor and refused to move, sort of like Rose's Zoey in Rose's Wednesday 10:10 a.m. posting Wednesday morning :p

Good luck at the vet today. Lulu is continuing to look great.:D

We hear lots of stories of small pets go missing around here, along with coyote and cougar sightings. I wouldn't take a cat on a hike here either. Just north of Whistler I heard of someone rescued from up a tree because a grizzly smelled their babies dirty diaper.

Sending good vetty vines. I'm sure the vet will be impressed with how well Lulu is doing. She's looking good.

Thanks, Wendy & Carla. It turns out that Lulu didn't see the vet. An emergency situation showed up just before I got there, so they offered to keep her overnight at no charge, and the vet would look at her tomorrow. I wasn't comfortable with that because they would be giving her her shot early, and I don't believe the cats are supervised overnight. I was also concerned about her bum being sore from the diarrhea, so the AHT took her back, cleaned her up, gave her a hygiene shave and put some ointment on her anal area. Said the vet would email me later tonight. I also showed the AHT her numbers, which they then showed to the vet. The vet believes that Lulu is going into remission.

Lookin' good here! Surf safe, Lulu. The LagoonMeister is keeping an eye on you!

I hope you'll be able to hike tomorrow, Lori. While you hike Lulu can help plan Sunday's full moon party.

Thank you, LagoonMeister. I'm fairly new here, so really appreciate you watching out for me. I just stepped out into the blue zone, but expect to be back shortly. I'd wuv to help plan the full moon party!:cat:

Thanks, Ella, I really hope I get to hike tomorrow, it nourishes my soul. Have a great evening.
