It's really not that hard. I just studied that pic Bhooma sent me and you just get it right above the 0 line definitely with glasses on. I am kind of thinking the drop dose is gonna be harder.as much as I want Hen to get there, I do not look forward to trying to meter .1 or a drop dose!
how's it going with that .1? I guess I would break out the magnifying glass

I kind of twist the plunger instead of push it to get it to those smaller doses. I find if I push the plunger I go right past it every time. It's really not that hard. How is that even possible? I use a magnifying glass for 1.5 (w/syringes with 1/2 unit markings) and still question whether I'm giving Dimi the same amount each day.as much as I want Hen to get there, I do not look forward to trying to meter .1 or a drop dose!

oooooh, I will have to try twisting! I'm alway flying right past the marking I need.oh absolutely, that twist trick which I learned here on the FDMB, is a godsend. Without it I would be screwed trying to meter .25U increments

I agree with Kyle. I actually find that the .1 is easier than .25. The .25 you really are guessing it's the same everytime. The .1 you are just above the 0 line, with no blank space between the 0 and plunger but not on the 0 line.oooooh, I will have to try twisting! I'm alway flying right past the marking I need.
oh your life is about to change my friend
before you draw the insulin, do you move the plunger up and down while twisting it? this is a good trick as well, it lubricates the syringe and makes it smoother
also, we found some brands (BD Ultrafine in particular) were impossible whether you twisted or not. We finally found Sure Comfort needles which are smooth as silk
Oh she is so easy with ear pricks. Sometimes she will jump up on the counter and just sit where we check her. She will jump a little and meow when I prick but she doesn't try to run at all. I was definitely blessed that she is so easy. We tried the freestyle libre 3 times but she kept pulling them off. So really couldn't keep using them due to cost. You've both made amazing progress in such a short time! Dimi was diagnosed around the same time as Kloey and Hendricks, but we have a long way to go. Your SSs give me hope that it is possible. Looks like Kloey is ok with frequent testing. Is that just her personality, or do you have a trick? I hate when my libre sensor fails and I have to switch to ear pricks.

In the beginning I was terrified and tested all the time. I was so scared of her going hypo. Now that I am more comfortable shooting in greens I kind of have her food schedule down and pretty much know how she is going to respond.so not testing quite as much. I did lose quite a bit of sleep in the beginning.Looks like there are times when you've tested her just about every hour of the day/night. Can't imagine doing ear pricks in the middle of the night. When do you sleep??!
Yup, I can relate. I'm in the terrified stage. Today is my second day of shooting in green. In the beginning I was terrified and tested all the time. I was so scared of her going hypo. When you feed a spoonful, do you then save in the fridge? My finicky guy won't eat anything after it has been refrigerated, even if allowed to warm to room temp.for MC we use a FF Gravy Lovers flavor, I think it is 13%
for a 10% carb snack I usually use the Purina DM Savory Selects cause Hendrick eats that really well
I don't use MC or HC unless she drops low (less than 50). I feed her FF 1/2 can at AMPS, 1/2 can around +2.5, then 1/4 can around +4.5 - +6 then nothing after until PMPS. She does really well on that and doesn't act hungry until right at shot time.@Hendrick Cuddleclaw when you write gave "gave 10% or 13% snack" what were you giving? I need to buy some MC and am not sure what to get.
You will be a pro in no time. It's strange how you start shooting greens and they just flatten out pretty quick. We are a little over 1 1/2 month in green. She dropped a bit in the beginning but has just flattened out and stayed 70s - 90s. Hopefully she will stay there and not hit any 100s and we can drop to a drop dose on Friday. Then a week of that and then OTJ.Yup, I can relate. I'm in the terrified stage. Today is my second day of shooting in green.

Oh, I can't wait till that happens.
