I dont understand and it is worrying me why she all of a sudden got this high, for this long.

What should I do?

Oh Enana....Come down a couple of floors this morning.....treats and snacks on lower floors.

Natalia: if the insulin is not old then there are two possibilities: she's still bouncing from yesterday's greens or she needs more insulin but you want to be sure she clears a bounce first. I know her numbers yesterday morning weren't that low but as Sienne said on another condo, a bounce can just be from (1) low numbers (2) fast drop (3) numbers they aren't used to. Hopefully one of the experienced folks will be along to help you decide if this is a bounce and you should let it clear or she needs more juice.

The insulin is 22 days old.

If it is a bounce, she hasnt had a bounce like this in a long time. :cry: :cry:

I know...it's much higher than you are used to but I have lately seen the same thing with Gracie. For a long time, her bounces were into yellow and since we are coming down the dosing, she's into low to mid pinks for her bounces. Hoping someone else with a very critical eye can look at your SS today.

My brain is completely fried today. I filled the syringe with insulin and pressed the plunger before inserting the needle....squirting the insulin all over the cat.... cat(2)_steam

I guess this morning was a bounce. Weird.

Hi Natalia, Don't panic! Whatever you did is done. Forget about it and go on from here. If you gave a fur shot, she will be high tomorrow morning. If you did indeed shoot, some of it may have gotten in. You can't worry about it. Sit down. Breathe! Whatever you do, don't give another shot tonight. OK?

Well I retested her and she is now 161. II will retest her again in 15.


The problem is that I gave her another shot :cry: :oops: . I am almost 100% sure that I squirted the content out, so I just got another syringe and refilled it and shot her.

Sounds like the kind of day I've been having lately. Fingers and paws crossed that Enana gets passed these high numbers soon... Looks like the PM cycle is shaping up well!!

you're doing fine. so far it's looking very much like enana's PM cycle on 4/28.

Remember to keep testing since numbers may come down as the higher carb food wears off.

Are you sure you squirted the insulin on Enana the first time?

I realized that I had emptied the syringe outside when I shot her and I had the plunger all the way in. I dont know how much it could have gotten into her, but the plunger was completely compressed.

I know I squirted it on her because when I realized what I had done, I touched her and she was wet...more than an usual fur shot. :oops:

ah, natalia, i'm just seeing your condo - you're doing great. these things happen and you're doing everything right now to keep her safe.

you doing ok now? you breathing? she's surfing right along and ought to be passing the nadir before long and starting to rise.
