First. Thanks you all SO much for the love and support. It makes me blart (cries) my eyes out but it also makes me feel less alone.
A little very brief recap : Tyler has been having loose stool /diarrhea issues plus worsening mobility problems for the past month. Have taken to the vet a good couple of times.
His latest vet appt for this was Friday 2nd Feb mid-morning. Thursday evening we noted Ty had taken himself into the wardrobe . Only the 2nd time ever in his life he has done something like that.
Early Friday morning his BG was very low and he absolutely would not eat at all.
I have updated Tyler's SS best I can.
Basically , he is continuously hypoglycemic. Even with the aid of the glucose drip his BG had not come above 3.9 /70. There was a trial yesterday of no drip, no insulin to see where his BG would be.
when we arrived yesterday and asked about his numbers, they did a test and it was 2.6 / 47 ! I have the feeling that the vet nurse/tech wasn't expecting that although I could see by Ty's eyes he was hypoglycemic. He was immediately put back on the drip for overnight.
Ty is still eating , weeing and pooping.
He tested positive for pancreatitis . His pancreas is inflamed. His liver is enlarged. He has nodules on both.
There is talk of a liver biopsy.
Vets state they would expect his BG , without insulin, to go through the roof given his ongoing issues. It has not. They are puzzled which doesn't bode well for us and Ty does it.
As you will see we are in the midst of another long holiday weekend.
We will leave for the clinic in the next hour.
