I felt very encouraged with the first day's BG #'s. But the last couple of days, we appear to be back sliding.

Any comments?

Comments, yes.

While I am not familiar with the insulin you are using, I do know that you will see changes in your cat way before you see changes in the numbers.

Compared to before starting insulin, how is your cat? The things that were bad, wrong before, how are they now?

Others who have used that insulin can comment on your dose, and what needs to be changed and when.

Yes, 1 unit of ProZinc BID.

I really haven't seen many differences in how he's feeling/behaving. The first day, I thought the litter box was a little drier, but that could have been wishful thinking. Other than that, he doesn't appear to be much different--still thirsty, still hungry, but maybe urinating a little less.

He has been squirmier taking the shots the last two days. I was hoping it would be easier to adminster the shots, rather than becoming more difficult. He acts like it's hurting him.

When we started insulin we saw a great drop in numbers at first and then a creep back up. The vet said that was normal as the body first getting the insulin was a great improvement to the lack of it, but the body gets used to it and we adjust until the body is done adjusting.

As for the cats reaction to things. We were good for the first few days of testing. Then she got sore and she got tired of being messed with. The next week was HELL!!! for both me and Smokey. She was mad and sore and wanted nothing to do with me. She'd hide under the bed when she saw me coming and I'd lay beside it and cry and tell her I was sorry, but it would help her get better. It did get better. MUCH better. To the point where she'd run for her spot when I'd say time for a poke and still went to there and waited before she'd eat even after we got off the juice.

Ginny stay on line for a few if you can...i want to take a look at your ss ok?

Ginny, have you switched diets for Alex yet?
It looks to me as if he needs a dose decrease already.. You might like to post on the PZI ISG and get your dosing info there.
But so often when there is a bit too much insulin the numbers will go, as you say, the wrong way.

yes, per the vet's recommendation, we started Alex on Hill's WD, but after reading here, I changed him to FF and some EVO.
I'll try posting on PSI board.

Thanks.
