eeraby said:All her blood work was within normal range. She's sending off for expensive 2 blood tests that will possibly indicate bowel or pancreas problems. Feline PLI (pancreas) and Cobalamine & Folate (Butamins related to inflamatory bowel). Should have results tomorrow.
She had no fever and red and white blood counts were fine. She does have abdominal pain.
eeraby said:She got an injection of Cerenia for nausea and pain in abdomen and a script for amoxicillin.
I didn't do anything with BG testing or insulin yesterday. Figured the #s wouldn't be true as Bud was there for 5+ hours and stressed out (they had numerous emergencies yesterday). Vet wants to do another ultrasound (previous 2 have looked normal) Bud's not constipated.
She does not think Bud's coming off insulin. Thinks there's something else going on causing the fluctuations in BG #s.
Bud's very alert and back to her purring self. Seems a very happy kitty.
Lana & Yoyo said:Something that I have noticed is that people on the FDMB who have cats with pancreatitis have to give their cats 6 to 10 units of insulin per day and that usually does not bring them down into the normal range.
Lana & Yoyo said:So hopefully, Bud does not have pancreatitis since she is so easily managed on a drop of insulin.

Also, I'm wondering if the kitties in question might also have some other health issues in addition to the pancreatitis (e.g. acromegly as Sheila mentioned) or be taking medications that cause insulin resistance?"
