448 BG after missed shot

I slept through his last Vetsulin shot, as he was eating a large meal. I didn't test right before meal, but I'd guess his BG was 200 then.
I just now gave him a substantial dose of 3.0U.

He's lethargic but not weak. Eyes were dilated. Breathing regular. Will try to test ketones when he uses the litter box.

I also am starting potassium gluconate, with info on separate thread.

Anything else to know?

Sorry no one saw this.

I’m not sure what your question is but I saw you shot early today when he was high but haven’t tested since. It’s really important with a harsh insulin like Vetsulin to check his BG several times in the cycle during his duration. Have you thought about moving to Lantus or ProZinc? They are much better, gentler insulin for cats. They don’t require you have food on board before you shoot.

Since we triage responses and it’s a busy board, it helps us catch when someone has a question if you use the “?” Prefix. To find it, it’s to the left of your subject line so when you start a new subject, you can select it. If you have a question later in the day, use the “edit thread” from the dropdown to the right of “watch” and then select the “?” prefix but please remember to remove it as soon as your question is answered.

Please let me know your specific question so we can help.

Thanks much for taking time to help!!
I'm so tired much of the time I've been working at this that I've had a hard time keeping track of how I should be doing things. Right now I think I don't have big questions, but will post if I do.
Thank you again!!
