I fed her a small amount of LC with some chicken pieces and will recheck in half an hour.

She's dropping pretty quickly, if she's still going down in a half hour you could do some MC to keep her surfing, it didn't seem to throw her into very high numbers yesterday. This could still be the depot working. Love all this time in good numbers for Zoey!!! Stressful, but at least you know it's working!

She's leveled out it seems so I fed her some cooked chicken and will check in 1/2 hour. Her normal feed schedule is in 1/2 hour so my thought is to get her to that and then feed her as normal and see if it keeps her in these numbers a little longer. She's here in my office with me so I am able to keep a pretty good eye on her, for what observations are worth.

Wow Zoey - OK, we can all see you dive really well, but let's try and keep it level for a while now please!! It might be that she's ready to start heading down the dosing scale (anti-jinx). Rosa was an expert at diving for a bit while she was doing that. It's great that you're able to keep an eye on her - the more you get to know how she reacts, the easier you'll find it to see when she might be heading low. Rosa never showed classic hypo symptoms but she'd suddenly go through every last scrap in her food bowl and go looking for more if she was low, and once or twice she got a bit growly when I touched her as though she had a headache. They all have their own ways of letting you know there's something not quite right and the more time you can spend with Zoey figuring her ways out the easier it will get to spot when you might need to do an extra test.

Overall she's looking great - straight back to business this morning with those green numbers. If she can keep surfing at that level for a little bit it's looking like a great day for her for getting some healing time in! :D

She's dropped some more but I've given her the regular food serving plus some extra chicken. Going to give her a taste of FMG food. Will check her in 30 minutes.

OK, I've got to head out in a few minutes but there should be people around by now if you need help. You're doing everything right so I'm sure you'll be fine - if she drops further, just let her have some carbs. There'll still be an effect from the depot from the higher dose that might still be affecting these numbers...or she might be going for fast reductions. But either way, you're watching her and she's going to be fine. Aside from the worry she's causing you I have to say her numbers are looking great - she cleared that bounce in no time at all! :D

I started giving her Milk Thistle two nights ago. Do you think her recent daytime lows are due to the MT? I only give her one drop (super concentrated) in the evening.

@manxcat419 I wish I could use Zoey's appetite as an alert to her being low but unfortunately, she's always hungry and there is NEVER enough food for her. She would eat until she popped. If that doesn't change soon, with these lower numbers and being more regulated, I'm going to ask the vet to do whatever tests he needs to do to see how well she's absorbing her food. It really is pretty much a guessing game and a process of elimination..... Keeping an eye on Rosa to make sure we don't miss out on her OTJ party!! Go, Rosa! Go, Rosa!

Calling it a night. At +3 she's at 385 so I will check her once more about +6 to make sure she didn't suddenly drop but she should be good until morning.

Sending sleep well vines to all....

Is her bounce back to 545 a normal bounce with all of the super lows she's been having? Is it a combo? Should I do something or just wait until morning and keep the same dose? I took her BG because she was sleeping on me and got really relaxed, like lethargic relaxed. Kind of freaked me out so I checked her, fully expecting her to be super low. She's just the opposite. She was obviously sleeping VERY hard because she's vocal and moving about like her normal diabetic self these days but still ... is this just a bounce and something you've experienced with other kitties before?

@julie & punkin (ga)

When they are in a bounce the numbers aren't necessarily flat. This is all a bounce from today's day cycle that started today at am+9.

I think you're safe to go to bed and not worry about her.

Zoey doesn't believe in half measures does she? All the way up there or all the way down. The bounce will settle though and she'll bounce less as she spends more time in good numbers. At least she's giving you a night off - I'd get the sleep while you can!

Zoey's a little bit of a drama queen. :rolleyes: She both went lower today and dropped really quickly at the beginning of the cycle. Both can cause bounces and combined - yi yi yi! I'm wondering if moving her +3 meal back to +2 or +2.5 might help slow the drop a little. There's a link in the Where Can I Find post called Feeding the Curve - Tashie. Jill has a really good explanation of how to do that. Maybe there's something in there for you.

Thanks for the link, @Wendy&Neko! Didn't get the message in time for this morning's +3 (didn't check before out the door) but will read up and give it a try this evening and tomorrow a.m. :) And yes, she embraces the role of drama queen very well.
