The 457 at pmps is once again my fault. She got a BCS dose this morning b/c I had shoot almost 40 minutes early to get to work on time for a MANDATORY meeting at 8:30 a.m. and of the 4 strips I had in reserve for overnight & this morning until I could get some more today, 1 I used for an overnight reading, 1 failed & when I stuck the last 2 into the backup meter this morning (out of strips for the usual meter but had some extras for a couple of the back up meters so figured I would be good to go till I got to the store today) I discovered that there was no battery, that it takes a weird size, which of course I did not have.
MORAL: Everybody go check all their batteries and their reserve supply RIGHT NOW! I'm serious.
Had I not had to shoot 40 minutes early I might have gone for it, but w/no reading since PM +6, (which yes was 298 but yesterday's a.m. cycle had a 237 @ +6 & she was down to 100 by pmps time so I was not comfortable w/where she might go) and having to be gone for so long, & w/no reading, I did what I did. I could not stall this morning, or be late for work, b/c of the mandatory meeting. My strip supply has never been that low & I've been doing this since 2008, & I will never push it that close to the edge again. Ever. Last Thursday I opened a bottle of 50 strips. I thought that would be plenty. I had another 50 coming from eBay that I thought would get here Saturday. They didn't. I am now on a mission to not think anymore.
The good news is her BBK is .2.
She'll get back on track. I got 100 (well OK 98, I just used 2) strips on hand now, & a huge supply on their way in the mail, complete w/tracking #s.
There is a great big pan of wet noodles on the stove, which I am going to go eat right now. As soon as I post Tawny's condo, who incidentally did get her full shot this a.m. & a dose crease this pm.
