Previous postOk so as you know I have two diabetic cats, Tiggy and bailey. I poke both of them with the same technique, same kind of lancets etc etc. Tiggy is a good bleeder but bailey can take two or three pokes or a long time to get his ears warm.
So why does Tiggy have inflammation along his ear edges? You can see and feel raised swollen areas where I poke him. The other ear I don't touch doesn't have that. The spots aren't sore or if they are, he doesn't give any indication. I have been avoiding one area now for months to see if it will get better but the swelling hasn't gone down much. And it looks like the swelling can occur after just one poke session.. Maybe if I don't seal it properly or hit a vein occasionally.. Any ideas? His ear edge is almost starting to distort in one area and I worry about scarring. Anyone ever seen this? How long does it take to heal?
