Good morning, LL!

Ripley's doing fine.
The last couple of days she has been low energy, sleepy. Not quite in the lethargic category, just not as perky.
Warning: Poo details to follow...
I cleaned out her LB this morning and noticed something interesting: she had just used it (yay for pee + poo!), and her poo was much darker than usual, and it smelled just like that odd smell I noticed emanating from her 2 nights ago. What on earth did she eat?!? :shock: I hope it was just something she ate rather than something going really wrong with her insides. The only thing I know for sure is that she ate a couple of fresh catnip leaves that day for the first time... hmmmm...

Hi Josie! I hope Ripley gets a little more pep in her step soon and that her poo returns to normal! Shasta's energy level has been low, too (and her poo has been small and hard to come by!) At least she's giving you pretty blues this morning! Hope she starts feeling better and the mystery smell either goes away completely or you figure out what's causing it. Have a great Tuesday!

Good morning Josie. I hope Ripley's poo problem is just catnip related. Will your vet give you a consult over the phone? Great to see the almost green AMPS.

Hi guys .. another nice day of numbers for ripley! And this morning they just keep on rolling .. so close to :mrgreen: No LB advice from me, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with those catnip leaves .. have a great day guys!

Hi Josie! Another beautiful start for Ripples :-D I hope that the odoriferous breath/poo is just a side effect of whatever she got into. Thanks for the vines! I am dragging arse today, but a reducie makes it all worth it ;-) Hope you have a great day!

Hi, John, thanks for the vines, they worked! :-D I don't know if my vet will do a phone-consultation. He's pretty hard to get a hold of. I think I'll wait and see if the issue comes back ~ Ripley's soon due for a general check-up soon anyway.

Hi, Devon, I'm pretty proud of her numbers, too :mrgreen: . I think I'll just stick with the dried form of catnip rather than the fresh stuff. Don't want to take any chances...

Hi, Courtney, you are a superstar for staying up so late last night. I hope Kizzy lets you sleep tonight! It's funny ~ I wasn't planning on getting involved in any late night parties, but I couldn't resist the fun! Still love that pic, and Ripley's crown of the FF gravy can :lol: .

Hi, Melissa, Ripley seems to back on her game this afternoon :-D . It's fun playing poo-guessing-games (not!) :roll: .

Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for all the OTJ support you've given to me and Mego. It really means a lot. I wish I wasn't so freaking busy so that I could spend more time with everyone here, but life seems to get in the way sometimes. Hope you're having a good evening. It sure looks like Ripley is having a great day so far! :mrgreen:

I've never fed fresh catnip just dry but was thinking of trying it...maybe not now :? Ripley looks pretty in green :mrgreen:

I'm glad Ripley's feeling better this evening. Hopefully the smell was just because of the catnip leaves. Nice surf for Ripley today. :mrgreen:

Hi, Carla, I'm glad she's feeling better, too. It was just a 'blip' I hope ;-) .

I'm washing Ripley's orange blankie that usually covers her cushion on her rocking chair, but she doesn't seem to mind. She's curled up on the naked cushion, snoozing soundly. Soon she'll get her nightly dose of sub-qs...

Anyone heard from Ann (Maggie) today? I miss them...

Catnip is also known as catmint. I read somewhere that cats sometimes eat catnip to settle their tummy. It's like mint leaves for us. Both of mine eat the fresh leaves. Neko loves it, Theo prefers the dry. It gives them minty fresh breath. :lol:

What you described sounds similar....to what I've seen with my outdoor guy.
Shadow eats dried cat nip all the time and I've never seen anything weird from that....or from green out of the garden catnip either.

acme experiment.... next time you give her the catnip.... monitor the lb.

Hi, Wendy, that's interesting ~ I've always thought of catnip as being soothing, rather than an irritant. I have a friend who makes a tea with catnip for soothing digestion. I wonder what may have caused Ripley's bout with odd smell/odd BM... I'll probably never know and that kills me! :roll:

And I am selfishly hoping there's no PJ party tonight for us ~ apparently there was one at my house last night, but I slept through it :lol: :lol: :lol: .

Rhiannon, Ripley couldn't even catch a slow spider ~ she isn't much of a huntress. That's interesting that you've seen similarities w/ your outdoor kitty. Maybe Ripley caught a dead mouse :roll: :lol: .
