Yesterday
Good morning and Happy Weekend! I didn't get up for the +7 alarm last night so they went hungry. Raja was beside herself with disappointment in me. Between the awful 3 hour vet visit yesterday and the no snack night, she is ready to find another establishment with "efficient and loving" people to care for her. She asked how to spell "efficient" so I know she is posting an ad on the kitty Craig's List.
"Loving, smart, wonderful, big-boned mature kitty in desperate need of a GOOD home with efficient staff"

Raja always has a way of making me feel soooo small. Her looks could KILL! She did have an accident in her carrier yesterday....(maybe it was a deliberate act on her part though) She is capable of doing things like that for spite. I am hoping that she will forgive me soon. Just in time for the Dental trip. Eiy yi yi! I tested her before we left on our excursion yesterday and she was +7=88. It will be interesting to see what her BG was in the blood work. She has spiked 100 points in the past. I am sure that the PMPS number was cause we had only walked in the door an hour before that and she was still stressed.

The fasting the night before the dental plays right into her fear/belief that one day I will just decide to NOT feed them at all. She gets hysterical when there is no food. No food for the +7 snack nor for breffis that morning. Oh the pain of it all. Shadow gets 2 dentals in one year while she is only needing one. But this time, she shows signs of having lost some teeth so we shall see what is going on with her. Maybe there will be excellent numbers when that is over with! Her teeth looked okay when I brought her in in Sept after she went back on the juice and they said she did not need a dental then. Makes me wonder though. Maybe there was something going on in her mouth back then that caused her numbers to go high again. It's so easy to look back and Monday-morning, ya know? Shudda, cuddas...
Well, it IS what it IS...and we are going to have an interesting Thursday night thru Friday this week. (Have I told you how much I hate dental day??? Guess so, right?) ugh!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Hugs! :YMHUG:

Morning and nice AMPS for Raja - so if I'm reading it right, Ms. Raja has to return this Friday for a dental! Aww, poor Raja, it's so hard on them withholding food. Maggie is due for a Wellness check early next month and dental check-up. Have a nice day.

Hee, hee! Poor Princess Raja had to wait for her meals. I do understand the stress of waiting in the vet's clinic. I was stressed just reading about it. 3 hours is awful!

So you don't use your auto feeder for the overnight snacks? Is it because you like to test them at PMPS +7 and need to get up anyway? I feed BigMac and his sister in the late night and at 9:00 am with the auto feeder. I'm usually up when the morning food rotates open but it's nice not to worry about their feeding. I have some feral kitties to feed and our elderly arthritic kitty that is segregated to deal with at that time too. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. I love my auto feeder.

Poor Raja - no efficient staff - please don't tell Zoe there is a Kitty's Craigslist - she'd have ad's on it in a hot second - apparently she needs a better staff, too! Good luck with Dental day - ugh, I hate the night before and the day of.

Yeah I get up each night at 3am or so. I realize that I am staggering around and not really fully awake. I go through the testing but don't really wake up unless I see a very low green....just go through the motions. +7 is an hour before Shad's nadir so I like to feed him then to ward off any really bad drop. Amazing how a 48 will jolt me awake! But generally, I do not really wake up completely!

I am not doing anything during my days so it's not so bad for me. This way, I can see who eats what and check their numbers..in case...sometimes it has helped. Not lately though with the numbers he has been getting!! I like to pick up the food so they are fasting for a few hours before AMPS. Not that any of that matters to them....it's just something that I decided to do. It's not for everyone, that's for sure! Those auto feeders are awesome though....I bought two of them after hearing you talk about them....
