Another yellow pre-shot this morning.

No more litterbox issues since yesterday around noon. I've closed off the area where she was going, used Nature's Miracle to re-clean the area, added a new litter box in front of the door to the closed off area, and also added a new litterbox with a silica gel litter next to her regular litter box. And I'm watching for litterbox use and cleaning as soon as I notice clumps in the clay litter. Hopefully between all those she gets back to her regular litterbox ways.

Also, I noticed she was getting a little less regular even before the sedation and the bupe (I was just seeing a bowel movement every 1-2 days). I've started adding 1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin puree to her morning and evening meals. She's been much more regular now, with 2 nice and firm BMs yesterday and today.

It's amazing that just that little adds 3% calories from carbs! I had taken her down to pretty much zero calories from carbs, but the extra 3% doesn't seem to be hurting at all.

Some cats do better with a little bit of carbs. Feeding Lowest/Zero Carb vs Lower Carb Foods Neko's numbers never showed an impact with the addition of pumpkin or squash.

Yellows are becoming the new pink. :)

Yeah, part of my challenge is that too much stuff is changing at once. I tried reducing the carbs to zero and it seemed to help, but I was also upping the dose. Previously I was adding carbs with the z/d. As long as Pumpkin tolerates it I feel better about using some pumpkin puree to add them. But, until we can get her dialed in on a dose that gets her into the blues it's hard to do much tinkering with her diet in a controlled way.

We're definitely seeing more and more yellows. The weird thing compared to most of the cats I see on here is that her whole curve is moving down. So many other cats start with these dramatic drops to the nadir and then steep climbs back up for the next pre-shot. When I average out her curves, Pumpkin shows a definite downward slope from AMPS to AM+4 and then an upward slope back up to PMPS. It only averages out to a total drop of 30 mg/dL though.

A dramatic drop for Pumpkin is 50 mg/dL from PS to nadir. Everyone dealing with these huge drops from 300+ to 50-100 must have nerves of steel!
