Yesterday's Condo

TGIF LL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night I had a bit of a scare with Max's bedtime check.
He was higher in the afternoon and at PMBG and actually rose to 111 at 11:00pm last night.
That scared the beejeebers out of me.
Yes a normal number but of course I am used to him coming down after the food has settled
and not going up.
I did not rush to test him this morning, and only did so with a pit in my stomach.

What a relief to see him this low. Don't know what he was doing yesterday but hope
it has passed.
I carried him to the kitchen to eat his breakfast, which was inhaled pretty quickly.
The feeder was picked clean over night so I think he did a good job cuz one of his sisters
ended up in DD's room so she did not get to eat.

Max did a quick visit to the LB and is now settled into his bed.

yay so happy! See worrying last night for nothing!!!! (I would be worried too, lol!!!) I can't believe it is day 7 already and I love big red!!!! Have a great Friday!

Of course she still worries, just because you are a gum chewer now doesn't mean she'll stop worrying about you, you're stuck man, she's going to watch you like a hawk furrever.

Big Red is spicy, is that how Max is feeling today :mrgreen:

BG levels can fluctuate for a number of reasons. Maybe Max and his sisters were stressing each other out! He's doing great!!

Wow.. a week already.. this is insane! Max.. please talk to Nova.. she likes to take things a little too slow for my liking..

Glad to see you are being carried around.. don't let mom get it in her head that just because your pancreas has gone professional.. you don't need to be mooshed over just the same!

As I read you worrying last night on FB I had to laugh because I knew he would come right back down today. I think BG measurements are more nerve wracking when they are OTJ, ssems like there is so much more at stake. Everytime Spooky goes near the water dish or seems to be ravenous with hunger I come running with the meter and have a churning in my stomache until it beeps and gives me a number in the 60's, then it's like a weight has been lifted and I can relax again. Your half way there, but it doesn't get any easier sorry!

You are so right about the water. After breffis this morning he came to his fountain and I stood there for a minute thinking, Did I read it upside down and was going to retest again.
Then I thought, leave it alone.
I just called the house to confirm. Nutcase that I am. It was a 66.
Don't know why +4 is 84.

ran up last night to post our PMBG- ...saw you still on, but by the time I submitted you were gone. Was late last night before I saw your post with Pre-bed #.
I felt for you..you sounded so bummed. Isn't it crazy how that same number looks so different now than before? It's hard to not be hyper-sensitive watching every little thing right now. Inevitably they are going to have an odd number...depending on whether or when we test and catch it. but I FELT for you 'cause i know how it is right now...wanting only smooth sailing and no bumps.

But look what Max pulled off...same as day before. So happy he is in numbers that make YOU feel better.
See...Mr. P IS working.

Don't know what is going on with Max.
Normal or not, I am not liking this 115 at +10.
I am a bit concerned that his feeding schedule might be slightly off
now that we are not as "rigid" as to the test times.

DPS said she fed him and then tested him, maybe aound 1/2 hour in between.
Very surprised since we have been so trained in feeding than testing.
Well I will be home most of the weekend to monitor more closely.
Paws crossed he brings himself down again.

Randi, I know you don't want to see that. But I do think you are right and that the news here is him bringing himself back down.

If I'm reading right, i think you said she fed him then tested in 1/2 hour. That has to be a food spike then. I don't know that we have tested that soon after eating, and if so, then my guess it would be a similar thing.

I also think you're right about being less rigid with times. Before the food would always be picked up far enough ahead to rely on the PS number. Now it's OK to be lax about eating & testing times.


I'm going to keep checking on ya'll..but my guess is the same thing will happen again as before...you will get that lower number once the food clears.

Max- give Mom some more green, please. :mrgreen:

Because we are not "shooting insulin" the 2 hours at Pm is a but more relaxed I guess.
I am not tied to the house at 7:00pm shot time so it could be 6 or 630 his PMBG is checked.
The morning number I know is good because I have the feeder turn to empty at 5:00 so
I know there is no food number there.
I guess I shall wait and see but I don't know.
Just have a wierd feeling about it all.

It's hard to not be a jewish mother..but in fact it's Not optional! What are you gonna do? This whole ride is filled with weird feelings. We can't go getting TOO comfortable. He's gonne be FINE!!

Maybe you should change the name to Big GREEN day...he may just be getting his colors confused momentarily.

Oh I know we are big worriers.
Max just came into the kitchen looking for food.
I was OMG you just ate, his number is probably 300 and the food he is
eating isn't getting into him and now he is going to be hungry all of the time.

Well, I fed him before testing, 106 and I will test him later.
Now I have to feed my girls.
Bad Mommy tonight.

Big Red just making you sweat today. No worries *****anti-jinx*****.

Max called Six and said "watch what I'm going to put Randi through today." I swear, I overheard the conversation. Six was snickering and plotting with him. Sorry...I'll keep a closer eye on Six and keep him away from the phone. You do the same with Max, ok?

Don't know why I picked Big Red today.
MJ mentioned it at the beginning and it sounded good but I hate cinnamon.
Serves me right, especially when no one likes the colour red here.

They were safer.
