Got a ketone urine test that looked negative. 2 actually. I'm still disheartened. He's still not eating normally. I'm trying to get some anti-nausea meds from a vet. Didn't sleep last night. I'm praying this new dose really helps.

Does anybody remember where the financial help resources were listed here?

Thank you. Too bad most of those links don't go anywhere anymore.

I've been talking to some other people on the board regularly about it. Been trying to manage it.

I don't think I've visited your condo previously, but the first thing I'd recommend is to switch back to the human meter to save on strips. AT2 strips are outrageously expensive.

Have you reached out to @Chris & China (GA) - she's an insider for DCIN (Diabetic Cats In Need). I hope she can help. I've tagged her here in your condo. Apologies if this has already been done.

We actually hate the human meter. I know the other strips are expensive but we can never get enough blood for the human meters and it becomes really hard on us and poor Hugo. Thank you for tagging the DCIN person. I appreciate it.

Nice to see the yellow PMPS. It will be interesting to see how he goes this cycle.
And the negative ketones:)

He went up to 420 at +3, but that yellow makes me cautiously hopeful. Best news was that he ate! I think that may have contributed to the higher +3, as I am positive he got this evening's shot. It's only the 2nd cycle on the new dose, right? Still gonna be wonky.

I believe it's from the same company that makes the AlphaTrak2, but I wasn't able to find a better price with it, particularly. The strips are pretty much equal in price.
Yes, it is the same company as the Alpha Trak (Abbott). The Freestyle glucometer is free with buying the strips (there are coupons online). In Canada, 100 strips cost around $75 at the pharmacy. The Alpha Trak strips cost $85 for ONLY 50. Plus, you can find Freestyle Lite strips on ebay (just don't bid against me!) ;)

Can the freestyle lite test strips be used in the Alphatrak2 unit?
