Yesterday marked the six month anniversary of Bear Man's passing. When he left us on Oct 8, it was a beautiful sunny and warm day, and he was able to enjoy the autumn breeze coming through the window. I know he is in a place filled with sun and fresh breezes and chirping birds. Sometimes I watch his garden video (linked in my signature) that shows him as I picture him now. Sadly, he he has been welcoming too many of his friends to the bridge in the last weeks and months. My heart goes out to all of those who have lost their beloved kitties.

In other family news, 18 year old Miss Emily has just regained her ability to jump up on the sofa. Maybe she is just so old that she forgot she couldn't do it ! Her renal values are stable, and on her last b/w, everything except her urea and creatinine were in the normal range. She does have bad teeth, and needs a dental. Although she has always done well with anesthesia in the past, I am extremely reluctant to put her under, even with the extra precautions they would use to protect her kidneys. I am dragging my feet on this one

Teddy is doing well, and is keeping busy. He successfully managed the kitchen renovation, and currently works full time as a caregiver to Miss Emily while I am at tbp. I am pretty sure he sneaks out at night to the parties, because I caught him with a bit of mustard on his whiskers and picking some hot dog out of his teeth @-)

Pinkerton successfully underwent a dental and recovered with no problems. He is gaining a bit of weight, which is probably not a good thing for a three legged kitty. He was at the vet just a couple of days ago to recheck the teeth, and he went into full hiss, growl, and snarl mode at the sight of another kitty in the waiting room. I guess his feline aggression issues aren't easing up at all.

That's all of the news from lurker central. Hope everyone has a great weekend. the weather is supposed to warm up here (finally!) and they are saying that the last time it was this warm was ... Oct 8

(((((Linda)))))
What a wonderful report on your brood...and great pictures too! It was such a treat to read your condo today....but now I am thinking back to Oct 8th myself... I have been missing Bear Man during these past months so much...it has been a very sad year around here, hasn't it?

Thank you for updating us on everyone. Good luck with the dental for Miss Emily....I know that this weighs heavily on your mind. My two are going in on Friday and I am hoping that if anything is bothering them, it will be rectified. Always a risk though, you are right. My two never would tell me if they are having issues with their teeth cause they know I would bring them for a dental. So, they say nothing about it and bite the bullet....and I take them for a dental anyway! Shadow goes twice a year....and Raja has been getting away with only one. Ugh, how I hate dental days!

So good to see you guys here today! I hope that you are feeling well....and doing well....take good care of yourself kiddo!
We know you are taking great care of your kitties! You are a wonderful Bean! Hugs to you all!

Hi Linda and Fur Family,

I think about Bear Man and Stu a lot too, since they both arrived at the bridge at about the same time. I know that they take their welcoming duties much to heart with so many of their friends arriving at the bridge in recent weeks. It has been a tough winter in Lantus Land, but all the LL kitties are thankful that their GA pals are now healthy again and free of pain.

It is really neat that Miss Emily and Pinkerton are feeling frisky these days. Must be spring! Russ loves to see his pal Ted at all the parties. They bonded that night Rusty spent in your home.

Have a lovely weekend, all of you,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Linda,

Nice to see you and get an update of all your kitties. Love seeing the pictures of them all. I can't believe it has been 6 months since Bear left us - it has been a sad year around here, that is for sure. (((Linda))) Enjoy the sunny weather and let all your happy memories of Bear comfort you.

Hi Linda! It is wonderful to have a family update.

I think we all miss Bear Man, he was such a legend around here, never to be forgotten. I cannot help but think of him when I look at Mannie - they are so much alike. I had been looking at the fdmb calendar the other day, the page that has Bear Man, Mannie, Stu... on it and could not help but think: omg is Mannie the only one left that is till with us? We have lost so many.... I hope you can remember Bear Man with a smile - he was just so great. Still is.

I was very happy to read on FB the other day that Miss Emily made it to the couch - very very cool. and Teddy? What a foreman he was while working on the kitchen redo. :-D I can so understand why you are reluctant to do the dental on Miss Em. I would too. I have a 17 year old that we did one on last summer - worried all day about her. She did OK, but wow on the seniors.... always a worry. Good to hear that Pinkerton is being Pinkerton. :-D

And Mannie was so elated to see so many nanners in the family photos. That got a high paw five on the screen. :-D
have a good day Linda - hope all is well with you. :-D :-D

Uh Ted? Dude... didn't we talk about removing all evidence? ya know: the mustard, the dog breath, consuming all product? it's OK though.... I've been busted several times.... I dunno why the bean thinks she needs to clean out the roadster, ya know? hey - another party coming up soon! ~~ Mannie

I love to hear about your kitties. That's pretty great that Miss Emily is jumping up on the couch again. Maybe caregiver Teddy has been helping her practice jumping while you are work. I think he deserves a hot dog or two for that! Ooh, PInkerton still full of piss and vinegar, such a tough guy, huh?

I also think of Bear Man often. He was such a beautiful kitty and I can't help but 'see' a little of him in many of the kitties here today (including my 2 cats, BigMac and Cappie.) I guess I compare them to him without realizing it much of the time. He was one of the first kitties I saw when I joined FDMB and LL. Seeing his photo with the flowers in the background - made me feel welcome and at at home here.

It's great to see an update on all your Furbabies. I too can't believe it has been 6 months since Bear Man left and I agree with CD. That picture of him in the flowers is awesome. Yes, there has been much sadness in LL but there has also been some joy. I'm also glad Teddy has someone new to take care of. Maybe Pinkerton would like another kitty with the same personality. I have one, the smallest of the bunch and she takes them all on regularly.

I hope you have a nice warm day, SPRING and a wonderful weekend. (((Linda)))

Oh Linda
I just love reading a caturday report about all your furbabies.
The pictures are wonderful and I am so glad they are doing well.

I was very sad to turn the FDMB Calendar to April because I got to stare at Bear Man and
several others that have now crossed. I always love staring at a picture of him.

I'm so glad you opened a condo and brought us up to date on the family. I think of Bear Man often, especially on those days like today when I can open a window and my guys jump up to sniff the air. I love the new kitchen and how Teddy supervised. I hope you are enjoying the space. Give all of your kitties a hug for me.

((((Linda)))) i know it was tough on you yesterday and yes BearMan has been busy welcoming too many kitties lately....

glad to know you and your gang are doing ok....nice report....

Linda, so great to see you! It's wonderful to hear how the rest of the fur family is keeping you occupied.

I know it is always warm spring with lots of gardens and bird chirps for Bear Man now. Hugs.

Linda you are still my momma bean hero, and still caring for your babies as was expected--We all miss Bear Man, a legend here in LL, and your dedication to him..Miss your posts & hope that all your fur babies feel well & flourish as Bear Man did- 6 months really flew by-Many Hugs and miss you! Love from us!

Love this update, thank you Linda
:YMHUG: so good to see you posting with your sweet kitties.
Missing Bear Man a lot here too.
A very special kitty in our hearts here.

I'm glad Teddy has Emily to take care of. I'm sure he's helping you, too. I can't believe it's been six months. ((( Linda )))
