Yesterday

Plates were licked mostly clean this morning when I got up at +11 and everyone was starving to death, but I don't think there was recent food behind his number because the plates only had crunchy and dry bits on them, nothing that looked like it had recently been eaten from.

They're all eating like piggies now and have quit screaming at me, so I can finally have my ~O) that I haven't been able to have yet. I couldn't go to the kitchen to get a cup with all the racket and it would have been bad to try to walk with hot coffee in hand while 5 cats sing and dance at my feet.

Got a bit of blue messing up that big ol' block of green but we're back in the green for PS so we'll see how the day goes =)

As much as I don't like seeing numbers trend up I am very glad to see that we found, for the moment, his resting dose. I so want to say fatten up the 0.5u but keep thinking about DH coming home and wanting you guys to have a comfortable celebration. Look forward to seeing what the rest of the day brings.

I don't think it is the case here but I am looking out for signs that the insulin might be driving the number up.

I'm around all day, no plans to go out, so I can test and see how he does today. What signs, besides numbers are you looking for? Because I can tell you that yesterday and so far today, he's been a piggy. I figured with the heat, he wouldn't want to eat or move much. I was wrong on the eating lol. They all seem to be eating a bit more than usual, but Tugger is yelling at me about empty plates whenever I look like I'm heading to the kitchen lol. I did get the a/c running well yesterday so the house stayed comfortable, unlike the two days before when it was 4,000 degrees in here. That might have made it easier to eat.

But it seems the higher numbers make him want to eat more. He feeds his lows, but he doesn't lick every plate clean, he just grazes a bit here and there. Higher blue numbers, he acts like there's not enough food in the world. Yellows and pinks make him sleepy and lazy. He likes low blues and greens much better.

Smaller meals really assist the healing pancreas so that it is not overwhelmed. You can experiment with trying a day with less food and see if range comes down, I would do that.
It is always hard when they are screaming at you and of course looking at you with those eyes.

IMO, Tugger is a late nadir around shot time kitty. But, this 0.5u dose is the first time (IMO) that we get to see what he is up to when he doesn't have too much insulin working. We may see a nadir change. If he isn't a late nadir kitty then we might think insulin is pushing numbers up.
We are watching/balancing/considering/ diet change, dose decreases, carry overs, shed empty/full, possible nadir change/move, food responses, healing pancreas.

I think, just maybe, Tugger has other plans today.

He's stalker kitty today. He's come to my chair twice and slapped my leg for attention. He's yelling a lot.

I'm just kind of waiting for the flicky tail.

Out of curiosity I poked him after the second chair visit... 85 at +.75 Yes, 45 mins post shot. Will be watching...

LOL at Tugger's fiesty-ness today! Max was fiesty this morning too. He was swatting at me as I was getting ready to get in the shower, then looked like he might nip at me a bit just before I got in. It's been a while since he's wanted to play that much in the morning!

Looks like Tugger is having a fantastic day! Keep up the good work! :mrgreen:

We couldn't ask for better numbers.
So tell me -- does flickage mean he's going down?

Tail tip flickage is a very good sign for dipping under 50 (antijinx!) I've noted it the past three times or so. He stalks me around those days too and he gets playful at test time. All of which he's doing today... if we don't see it this cycle, we'll see it tonight probably (antijinx some more!)

Them are some mighty pretty numbers Tugger :mrgreen:

I find it really interesting that Tugger is fiesty when he's going to dip, my girl gets like that when she's going over 100. When she goes into the 70s or lower, she climbs into bed a passes out. I think Tugger's way is much better.
